Detroit Lions impending free-agent DT Nick Fairley's status is still unknown, as general manager Martin Mayhew said he hasn't made a decision on the possible free agent. Mayhew said he would meet with Fairley's agent at the NFL Combine this week and added that he could envision DT Ndamukong Suh and Fairley both returning to the team or both not coming back.

Detroit Lions DT Nick Fairley was found not guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol during a three-day trial that ended Friday, Feb. 13. Fairley was found guilty of a reckless driving charge and will pay a $500 fine.

DT Nick Fairley (knee) is doubtful, while DE Ziggy Ansah (toe) and DE Darryl Tapp (non-injury) are probable. Warford didn't practice Friday, Jan. 2. Ansah and Fairley were limited, while Tapp practiced in full.

Detroit Lions DT Nick Fairley (knee) is hoping to play in the Wild Card game against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, Jan. 4, after practicing Thursday, Jan. 1. Earlier in the week, head coach Jim Caldwell said it'd be "a miracle" if Fairley played Sunday. "I feel real comfortable," Fairley said. "End of the day felt good. I didn't feel like I had a minor setback or none of that. The knee felt pretty good." Fairley is now down to 290 pounds. Defensive coordinator Teryl Austin doesn't think Fairley is at game-level fitness yet, but he still thinks his fitness level is good enough to play. Austin said Fairley would play in a limited role if he's active, since he hasn't played since Week 8.
