Fantasy Tip: Green is not expected to play this weekend against the Indianapolis Colts. Don't use him in any of your fantasy football lineups. Bengals | A.J. Green won't play Sunday

Fri, 10 Oct 2014 08:59:35 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) will not play in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers, according to sources. Green had his right foot in a walking boot Friday, Oct. 10, during the team's walkthrough. Head coach Marvin Lewis said Green's injury was "a little more than" turf toe Thursday, Oct. 9. Green initially injured his toe in Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: With Green and Marvin Jones out, expect plenty of targets for Mohamed Sanu ($4,200; 8.4% of cap). At that price, it's hard to leave Sanu out of your FantasyScore lineups against the Panthers. Don't forget about James Wright ($3,000), either.

Bengals | A.J. Green likely out for Week 6

Fri, 10 Oct 2014 08:22:30 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) is expected to miss Week 6.

Fantasy Tip: Time to go to contingency plans. As noted before, Mohamed Sanu will rise swiftly in our rankings update tonight and is a daily fantasy darling (a cheap $4,200 salary in FantasyScore). Giovani Bernard should see more targets, as well.

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) arrived in a walking boot and is not working out in practice Friday, Oct. 10.

Fantasy Tip: It's looking unlikely that he'll play this weekend. Plan ahead for alternatives. And boost Mohamed Sanu ($4,200; 8.4% of cap) in FantasyScore. He's a sleeper.

Bengals | A.J. Green not on the field

Thu, 09 Oct 2014 11:18:25 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) is not participating in practice Thursday, Oct. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Green is not expected to play in Week 6, so owners should keep him on the bench until he has recovered from his injury. Mohamed Sanu could be a fine lower cost option for owners on FantasyScore at $4,200 since he probably will be the Bengals' top receiver.

Bengals | Cincy won't change offensive game plan

Thu, 09 Oct 2014 10:20:58 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) may not play in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers, but offensive coordinator Hue Jackson refuses to change the game plan drastically if their receiving star doesn't play. "That's why I never put together a game plan based on one guy," said Jackson. "We're not going to crash our game plan. As a coordinator you just have to adapt. You never know what might happen." WR Mohamed Sanu is tied for the team lead with Green with 17 catches, and WR Dane Sanzenbacher can also be used.

Wed, 08 Oct 2014 20:54:30 -0700

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) could potentially miss multiple games after aggravating his big toe injury in practice Wednesday, Oct. 8. Green had an MRI Wednesday, and he will meet with a foot specialist Thursday, Oct. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Green's status for Week 6 is very much in doubt. FantasyScore owners will want to steer far clear of Green and his $7700 salary cap figure, which accounts for 15.4 percent of the cap.

Wed, 08 Oct 2014 11:06:08 -0700

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) was able to walk after apparently aggravating his toe injury Wednesday, Oct. 8, but was walking with a limp. Green threw his helmet and shoe after suffering the injury and was carted off the field.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to see if Green will be able to practice this week in order to get a better idea of his status for Week 6. Green may not be the best option to use on FantasyScore at $7,700 if the injury lingers throughout the week.

Bengals | A.J. Green back on injury report

Fri, 03 Oct 2014 13:05:38 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) was listed as a limited participant in practice Friday, Oct. 3, and he's probable for Week 5 against the New England Patriots.

Fantasy Tip: Green's toe caused him to sit out of a game earlier this year, so this is worth watching, but it's not expected to keep him out Sunday night. There's a good chance that Green will be faced off against Darrelle Revis. That shouldn't stop you from playing him, but he's expensive at FantasyScore ($7,700; 15.4% of cap).

Fri, 19 Sep 2014 07:29:13 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Green has a $7,900 (15.8% of your cap) price tag in Week 3 on FantasyScore. While it is ludicrous to shy away from Green on any given week, he carries a lot of risk when considering cost efficiency and injury limitations.

Bengals | A.J. Green returns to practice

Thu, 18 Sep 2014 13:04:05 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) was back at practice Thursday, Sept. 18, and he hasn't ruled out the possibility of playing in Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans. "If it's feeling good, then I'm going to go," Green said. "If it's not, then we'll go from there." Green lined up out wide and ran at a good pace during practice. He felt the injury all of last week during practice, and he wasn't able to get full extension when he ran in Week 2. Head coach Marvin Lewis expects Green to play against the Titans. If he doesn't play, WR Mohamed Sanu will replace him as the No. 1 receiver.

Fantasy Tip: Green will likely wind up being questionable and could be a game-time decision Sunday morning. It's a risk to put him in your FantasyScore starting lineups. Sanu, at $4,900, is a smart buy, even if Green suits up.

Thu, 18 Sep 2014 06:45:47 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (foot) is likely to play in Week 3, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.

Fantasy Tip: Green ($7,900; 15.8% of your cap) is a big gamble to take this week on FantasyScore. However, he usually performs well enough to justify the hefty price tag.

Bengals | A.J. Green to miss practice

Wed, 17 Sep 2014 09:13:06 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) will sit out practice Wednesday, Sept. 17, but will try to practice Thursday, Sept. 18. He said he hopes to be able to play Week 3. He said his injury is like turf toe but not as bad. He is not worried about the injury lingering.

Fantasy Tip: Green will try to get ready for the game this week, but the team could consider holding him out since they have a Week 4 bye, which would give him two weeks of rest. Owners will need to monitor his practice participation this week. Green costs $7,900 on FantasyScore and is a risk since his status for Week 3 is uncertain at this point.

Mon, 15 Sep 2014 13:21:44 -0700

Updating previous reports, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (foot) underwent an MRI on his injury, which came back negative. If he is not able to play Week 3, he should be ready after the team's Week 4 bye.

Fantasy Tip: This is good news for Green and his owners. Owners should monitor his practice participation during the week to see if he is able to play Week 3. Green may not be the best option on FantasyScore this upcoming week because of his uncertain status.

Bengals | A.J. Green has foot strain

Mon, 15 Sep 2014 07:56:10 -0700

Updating earlier reports, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (foot) has a strained ligament in his foot, as opposed to the original diagnosis of turf toe. It's unclear whether it's an aggravation of the injury that caused him to miss practice Thursday, Sept. 11, or if it's a new injury.

Fantasy Tip: Green's status for Week 3 is unclear. As previously stated, Mohamed Sanu's value rises to a good WR3 option for the upcoming week, even if Green plays.

Bengals | A.J. Green could miss time

Mon, 15 Sep 2014 06:57:25 -0700

Updating previous reports, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) doesn't have a significant injury and would likely return for Week 5 after the bye week if he's unable to play in Week 3. The injury was related to the injury that forced him to miss practice Thursday, Sept. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Mohamed Sanu's value is on the rise with the question mark on Green. He caught three balls for 84 yards and a touchdown in Week 2. He would make a decent flex option in Week 3, depending on his price on FantasyScore.

Bengals | A.J. Green has turf toe

Sun, 14 Sep 2014 14:10:32 -0700

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) suffered a turf toe injury in the Week 2 game against the Atlanta Falcons, a league source said Sunday, Sept. 14. He left early and was unable to return. It is uncertain how much time he will miss.

Fantasy Tip: If Green is sidelined for any significant amount of time, Andy Dalton's fantasy appeal takes a hit. Mohamed Sanu, Brandon Tate and Marvin Jones, when he himself returns from injury, will likely see more targets if Green is forced to miss any length of time. Jermaine Gresham also figures to pick up targets, and Giovani Bernard might even be depended upon more out of the backfield.

Bengals | A.J. Green won't be limited

Sun, 14 Sep 2014 07:53:27 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (foot) won't be restricted to a "pitch count" in Week 2 Sunday, Sept. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Green will cost $7,300 (14.6% of your cap) on FantasyScore this week. He's the third-most expensive receiver this week but has a decent matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Start him if you can fit him in the budget.

Bengals | A.J. Green will play

Fri, 12 Sep 2014 10:43:45 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (foot) was back at practice Friday, Sept. 12, after being held out as a precaution Thursday, Sept. 11. Head coach Marvin Lewis said Green will play in Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: Green will command plenty of attention from the Falcons secondary, and he's expensive at FantasyScore ($7,300; 14.6% of cap), making it tough to score a profit. With Tyler Eifert out, Mohamed Sanu may be a sleeper in this offense in Week 2, especially if he's left in single coverage often.

Thu, 11 Sep 2014 10:23:38 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (foot) is not taking part in practice Thursday, Sept. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Green probably does not need a lot of practice time to get ready, but owners should see if he is able to practice Friday, Sept. 12, before deciding on their lineup. If he is active, he should be started most leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Check back for more updates on Green. As of now, plan to have him in your lineup until further notice, but have a backup plan just in case. Against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2, Green remains an elite play at FantasyScore even at top-dollar price ($7,300; 14.6% of cap), but that may change based on his status later this week.

That's fine with me," Green said. "I don't even look at it like that. I just go out there and play and my time will come. It's not surprising. Teams always want to wait. "I think both of these guys are in the prime of their careers," Jackson said. "I wouldn't change the two guys I have for anybody at this point because these guys know how to do it together."

Fantasy Tip: Green is one of the best receivers in the game and is a no-doubt WR1. However, until Dalton shakes off his consistency issues, he remains nothing more than a midrange backup QB.

Bengals | Want ball-possession offense

Thu, 26 Jun 2014 05:32:43 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals beat writer Geoff Hobson believes Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson wants to have a more ball-possession offense that runs it more but sets up more explosive passes efficiently. That would mean fewer pass plays, but more potential big plays off of play-action.

Fantasy Tip: Giovani Bernard is going to have to prove that he can run the ball effectively 15-20 times in order for the play-action to work. Jeremy Hill will also be a factor in third-and-short situations that could free up A.J. Green and Marvin Jones downfield. Andy Dalton looks to be in optimal fantasy position this year in his contract year as a low-range QB1.
