Fri, 02 Dec 2016 08:20:15 -0800

Updating previous reports, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) said he suffered a Grade 2 hamstring tear, and he's working to get back this season. It may not be until Week 17.

Fantasy Tip: Recent reports offered some hope that he could return next week, but this report puts serious doubt on his availability for the fantasy playoffs. If you have the roster space, you have to stash him until something official occurs.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to check on Green's practice participation next week to see if he has a chance to play in Week 14. Green could be limited when he returns but would still help owners during the playoffs.

Bengals | A.J. Green uncertain for Week 13

Mon, 28 Nov 2016 12:47:17 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) is unlikely to play in Week 13 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but head coach Marvin Lewis use the term "partly cloudy" when referring to his receiver's likely status.

Fantasy Tip: Beat writer Paul Dehner translated the comment as "not happening," which is exactly how fantasy owners should proceed. Tyler Eifert should see another heavy dose of targets, while rookie Tyler Boyd should be a serviceable WR3 in PPR leagues. Brandon LaFell should remain off the radar in most leagues.

Bengals | Tyler Boyd ready to step up?

Fri, 25 Nov 2016 19:16:48 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd tied season highs with six catches on eight targets in Week 11, with all of his catches and targets coming after WR A.J. Green (hamstring) exited the game.

Fantasy Tip: Boyd should be one of the biggest beneficiaries of Green's injury. He is worth picking up in most formats, but he is a risky flex play in Week 12 against a solid Baltimore defense.

Bengals | A.J. Green could return this season?

Mon, 21 Nov 2016 12:39:11 -0800

Updating previous stories, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) has only been ruled out Week 12 versus the Baltimore Ravens. Head coach Marvin Lewis would only confirm Green has a "strained" hamstring Monday, Nov. 21, and believes the receiver will return this season.

Fantasy Tip: Monday's MRI must have revealed much better news than expected, since initial reports had the hamstring being torn and Green likely out for the season. This means owners need to hold on to Green until we receive a more definitive diagnosis, but even a slight tear figures to keep him out multiple weeks. Tyler Boyd figures to take over for Green while he is recovering, and the rookie is worthy of an add in deeper leagues while owners wait for more news on Green.

Bengals | A.J. Green has torn hamstring

Sun, 20 Nov 2016 13:55:34 -0800

Updating previous reports, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) has a tear in his hamstring and will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the injury, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Green probably will miss multiple weeks and could miss the rest of the 2016 season, so owners should keep an eye on a possible timetable. Brandon LaFell and Tyler Boyd should be more involved in the passing game but probably can be avoided in most leagues.

Bengals | A.J. Green will not return

Sun, 20 Nov 2016 10:38:53 -0800

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) will not be able to return to the team's Week 11 game because of a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to look for an update on Green's status in the next day or two. Tyler Eifert, Brandon LaFell and Tyler Boyd would all receive extra targets if Green misses an extended period of time. Eifert is a No. 1 tight end in all leagues, while LaFell and Boyd could be flex option in deeper leagues.

Sun, 20 Nov 2016 10:09:01 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals TE A.J. Green (hamstring) was carted off the field after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 11. He is considered questionable to return.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation to see the severity of the injury. Green is one of the top receiver in the NFL and in fantasy leagues, so it would be a big blow if he misses multiple weeks.

Bengals | A.J. Green gimpy in second half

Mon, 14 Nov 2016 20:08:28 -0800

He limped off for the sideline, was looked at by the training staff and then returned to the game. However, he was walking with a noticeable limp upon his return.

Fantasy Tip: Green appears as if he is going to tough it out despite his undisclosed lower leg injury which is good news for fantasy owners. We'll monitor the situation closely for you.

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green caught nine passes for 121 yards against the Washington Redskins in Week 8.

Sun, 23 Oct 2016 14:20:09 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green caught eight passes for 169 yards and one touchdown against the Cleveland Browns in Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: Green has caught at least six passes in four of the last five games and has two touchdowns and two 100-yard games during that span. He should be a weekly No. 1 receiver in all fantasy leagues.

Bengals | A.J. Green targeted 10 times

Sun, 16 Oct 2016 22:17:23 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (calf) posted six receptions for 88 yards in the Week 6 game against the New England Patriots. He was targeted 10 times.

Fantasy Tip: Green made it through the game all right despite entering with a calf issue. He has found the end zone just once over the past five games, and he has only one 100-yard performance during the span. The absence of Tyler Eifert has really hurt the Cincinnati offense, and that might be why Green is not performing at his best. With another target for defenses to worry about, Green might be more free to do this thing. Eifert might be ready to return in Week 7.

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (calf) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 14, and is not on the injury report for Week 6.

Wed, 12 Oct 2016 16:08:16 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (calf) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Sun, 09 Oct 2016 21:57:22 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green posted four receptions for 50 yards on eight targets in the Week 5 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Fantasy Tip: Green took a big step backward after his big performance last time out against Miami. Despite some inconsistency this season, Green remains an obvious must-start fantasy option heading into Week 6.

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green finished with 10 catches for 173 yards and a touchdown in a 22-7 win over the Miami Dolphins Thursday, Sept. 29.

Fantasy Tip: It was the second time Green has topped 170 yards in four games this year, and he is a WR1 against just about any opponent.

Bengals | A.J. Green leads receivers

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 14:57:35 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green had 77 yards on eight catches Sunday, Sept. 25, in a 29-17 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Green remains QB Andy Dalton's top target, and he should return to the scoring column against a weaker opponent next week.

Bengals | A.J. Green does not practice

Wed, 21 Sep 2016 16:37:41 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Green is expecting a baby in the near future, so he likely will not practice until the baby is delivered. Owners should keep an eye to make sure this does not affect Green's status for Week 3. He will be facing one of the best defenses in the NFL in the Denver Broncos but should still be a useful fantasy option.

Sun, 18 Sep 2016 22:16:38 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green managed two catches for just 38 yards in the Week 2 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was targeted eight times.

Fantasy Tip: Green normally performs well against the rival Steelers, but he laid a big egg for his fantasy owners in this one. Despite a tough matchup in Week 3 against the Broncos he remains a must-start across the board in all formats.

Bengals | Big day coming for A.J. Green

Wed, 14 Sep 2016 22:51:00 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green will meet the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2. Over his past four regular season games Green has 36 receptions for 556 yards and three scores against the Steelers, and he has been targeted a total of 54 times in the four games, with at least 13 targets in three of those outings.

Fantasy Tip: Green will have a giant stat line for fantasy owners in Week 2, as a game on the road in Pittsburgh isn't as daunting as it has been in the past with a defense susceptible to big plays.

Bengals | A.J. Green ready for Darrelle Revis

Sat, 10 Sep 2016 18:31:02 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green said New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis does "everything well," but Green said his job is to make big plays for the offense no matter who is lined up to defend him.

Fantasy Tip: Green had five catches for 81 yards and a score in his only other matchup with Revis, and Green should be deployed with confidence as a WR1 in Week 1.

Sun, 28 Aug 2016 18:38:47 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (knee) limped off the field with a right knee injury against the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday, Aug. 28, but the team is reporting the injury is not serious.

Fantasy Tip: The initial news is encouraging, and as long as the knee issue is indeed minor, Green is a reliable WR1 in all formats.

Bengals | A.J. Green could miss early-season game

Thu, 25 Aug 2016 16:29:49 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green said there is "no way" he is missing the birth of his first child, and he would miss a regular season game if it comes to that. His first child is due in about a month.

Fantasy Tip: That's a perfectly understandable reason to sit out a game, and at least he's giving his owners fair warning a month in advance. That projects to about Week 3, so owners who still have to draft should take that into account, as well as Cincinnati's bye week in Week 9. Nonetheless, Green is still a valid WR1 option and should continue to be treated as such.

Bengals | A.J. Green feeling loose

Tue, 19 Jul 2016 11:56:12 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green said his mind is at ease entering the 2016 season. "I don't have to worry about contracts or anything like that," Green said. "I just go in there free, [with a] clear head, just go out there, work and have fun."

Fantasy Tip: How Green's mindset translates on the field remains to be seen, but an eased mind doesn't hurt. He's by far the Bengals' top receiving option, which means he'll probably still see plenty of double teams. He may have to work a little harder, but he should still be viewed as a late first-round pick or early-second round pick.

Bengals | Depth at receiver for Bengals

Sun, 10 Jul 2016 11:37:24 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WRs Mario Alford, Jake Kumerow and Brandon Tate were named by director of player personnel Duke Tobin as receivers who can contribute behind WRs A.J. Green, Brandon LaFell and Tyler Boyd.

Fantasy Tip: Tate might be the better bet of the three to have fantasy value with his experience and return ability, but none of them should be regarded as vital additions to fantasy rosters.

Bengals | Brandon LaFell picking up offense

Thu, 16 Jun 2016 19:01:18 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR Brandon LaFell has picked up the offense quickly, QB Andy Dalton said, and LaFell said he is ready to take advantage if defenses double team WR A.J. Green.

Fantasy Tip: LaFell has a chance to open the year as Cincinnati's No. 2 receiver, and he is worth grabbing in the later rounds of drafts in case he runs with the role.

Bengals | A.J. Green helping Tyler Boyd

Sun, 29 May 2016 20:11:46 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd said watching WR A.J. Green demonstrate techniques makes them easier to learn than just having someone tell him how to do them.

Fantasy Tip: Boyd is going to be given a chance to have a big role in Cincinnati's offense, and he is a great option to target in the later rounds of drafts.

Bengals | A.J. Green ready to carry offense

Fri, 27 May 2016 20:35:39 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green said he knows that the offense is only going to go as far as he and QB Andy Dalton can take it in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: Green has been one of the steadiest receivers since breaking into the league, and losing Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu in free agency should lead to even more looks for Green. He is a sure-fire WR1.

Bengals | A.J. Green has dominated Pittsburgh

Fri, 08 Jan 2016 19:35:45 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green faces the Pittsburgh Steelers in the wild-card round of the playoffs Saturday, Jan. 9, and he combined for 17 catches for 250 yards and two touchdowns in two meetings with the Steelers during the regular season.

Fantasy Tip: Green ($8,800, 17.6% of cap) has torched the Steelers porous secondary twice already, and he has shown solid chemistry with AJ McCarron ($5,800, 11.6% of cap). Teaming Green and McCarron at FantasyScore could pay dividends.

Bengals | A.J. Green finds the end zone

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 16:39:10 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green caught four passes for 34 yards and a touchdown in a 24-16 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 17.

Fantasy Tip: Green's yardage totals have been modest since AJ McCarron took over for Andy Dalton, but he has caught three scores from McCarron in the last four games. Green still deserves plenty of consideration at FantasyScore heading into the postseason.

Bengals | A.J. Green finds end zone

Mon, 28 Dec 2015 22:17:56 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green caught five passes for 57 yards and one touchdown in the Week 16 game against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Green has seen his receiving yards dip a bit over the last two weeks but still has five touchdowns in his last five games. Green will have a favorable matchup against the Baltimore Ravens and could be a solid starting option in most leagues.

Bengals | A.J. Green has bruised back

Wed, 23 Dec 2015 09:32:42 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (back) has a bruised back, but he's expected to play Monday, Dec. 28, against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Green ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) loses some value with Andy Dalton (thumb) out, but he's still a worthwhile WR1 consideration on FantasyScore.

Bengals | One catch for A.J. Green

Sun, 20 Dec 2015 19:32:26 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (back) finished with one catch for 37 yards in a 24-14 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 15.

Fantasy Tip: Green was dealing with a back issue during the game, so the injury could be to blame for the poor performance. Even if he is 100% next week, he is a risky play against the Denver Broncos stingy secondary, especially with A.J. McCarron set to make just his second start at quarterback.

Bengals | A.J. Green probable

Sat, 19 Dec 2015 12:24:21 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (back) is listed as probable for Week 15 after being added to the injury report Saturday, Dec. 19.

Fantasy Tip: New injuries are usually a concern this late in the week, but Green is still listed as probable, so he may have just tweaked his back today. Green ($8,100, 16.2% of cap) will have AJ McCarron throwing to him tomorrow instead of Andy Dalton, though, so invest in Green at your own risk.

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green finished with six catches on nine targets for 132 yards and a touchdown in a 33-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Green actually did most of his damage after A.J. McCarron replaced an injured Andy Dalton, catching five passes for 115 yards, including a 66-yard score. McCarron will be starting again in Week 15 against San Francisco, but Green should still be able to produce.

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green caught five passes for 128 yards, including a 23-yard touchdown, as the Bengals downed the Cleveland Browns 37-3.

Fantasy Tip: Green ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) has had a solid season right along with Dalton's rise to prominence once again. He's worth the price on FantasyScore as long as the Bengals are hot like this.

Bengals | A.J. Green scores two TDs

Sun, 29 Nov 2015 15:26:04 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green caught six passes for 61 yards and scored two touchdowns in a 31-7 win over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, Nov. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Green ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) remains Dalton's top receiving threat, so as long as he keeps catching passes he will remain a strong FantasyScore play in yardage and catch leagues. He only has four touchdowns, so Green has suffered in scoring leagues.

Bengals | A.J. Green facing tough test

Sat, 28 Nov 2015 18:05:59 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green faces the St. Louis Rams in Week 12, and the Rams have allowed one touchdown and the second-fewest yards to No. 1 wide receivers this year.

Fantasy Tip: Green ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) has been steady this year, but his big games have been few and far between. Don't expect a breakout performance against the Rams.

Bengals | A.J. Green held out of end zone

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 22:22:52 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green posted four receptions for 79 yards in the Week 11 game against the Arizona Cardinals. He was targeted a team-high 12 times.

Fantasy Tip: Green nearly hauled in a touchdown in the corner of the end zone in the final minute of regulation, but his foot was just out of bounds and it was the correct call. Despite the fact it has been three weeks since Green last found the end zone, he remains a must-start fantasy option in most formats. He has four or more catches in eight straight games.

Mon, 16 Nov 2015 21:38:26 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green hauled in five receptions for 67 yards in the Week 10 game against the Houston Texans Monday, Nov. 16. He was targeted seven times.

Fantasy Tip: Green struggled to find open spaces, but considering how awful the Cincinnati offense performed it wasn't that bad of a stat line for Green. However, he has another tough matchup in Week 11 on the road against the Arizona Cardinals.

Bengals | A.J. Green carries offense

Mon, 02 Nov 2015 09:35:51 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green carried the offense in the Week 8 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, catching 11 balls for 118 yards and the game-winning touchdown. It was the fourth straight time that Green had at least eight catches against the Steelers. He is on pace to set career highs in catches (105) and receiving yards (1,483).

Fantasy Tip: With Andy Dalton having a breakout year, too, Green is a fine daily option on FantasyScore each and every week.

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green needs 98 catches this season to achieve the most receptions ever by an NFL player in his first five seasons. Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald holds the current record of 426 catches. Green entered the 2015 season with 329 catches.

Fantasy Tip: Green has 35 catches through six games, so he'll need to pick up the pace a little bit in order to attain the record. He's still been one of the top fantasy wide receivers this season, and is looked at consistently by Andy Dalton. Green ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) has a tasty matchup this week against a Pittsburgh Steelers defense that has allowed the seventh-most receiving yards to wide receivers this year.
