Bengals | Quiet game for A.J. Green

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 20:55:08 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green finished with three catches for 41 yards in a 29-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: It was the first time all year that Green has been held below 60 yards, but he still led the team in receiving. The entire Cincinnati offense should perform better against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8, and Green should go back to putting up WR1 numbers.

Bengals | A.J. Green beat the jam in Week 5

Tue, 10 Oct 2017 18:41:56 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green earned the highest passer rating for all receivers when pressed at the line of scrimmage in Week 5 at 153.3, per NFL Next Gen Stats.

Fantasy Tip: To put that number into some perspective, 158.3 is considered a perfect passer rating in the NFL. The Miami Dolphins' Jarvis Landry came in second at 129.2. It's more proof Green is about as good as it gets at receiver and disproves the notion the angular 29-year-old isn't strong enough to beat physical coverage. He's obviously an every-week starter in fantasy.

Bengals | A.J. Green has big stat line in win

Sun, 08 Oct 2017 18:21:11 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green racked up seven receptions for 189 yards and a touchdown in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Tip: The highlight of the afternoon was a 77-yard touchdown reception, vindication after he lost a fumble and helped contribute on two other turnovers. He showed why he remains an elite fantasy receiver, playing well despite rainy conditions for most of the game. You'll need to make alternate plans in Week 6, as the team is on a bye.

Bengals | A.J. Green scores touchdown in Week 4

Sun, 01 Oct 2017 13:35:57 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green caught five passes for 63 yards and one touchdown against the Cleveland Browns in Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Green has caught at least five passes in every game this season and has caught a touchdown pass in each of the last two games. He can be considered a No. 1 or No. 2 fantasy receiver next week against the Buffalo Bills.

Bengals | A.J. Green has 10 grabs, 111 yards

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 19:30:47 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green finished with 10 catches on 13 yards for 111 yards and a touchdown in a 27-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Green's status as the top option in the passing game is unquestioned, but it was still good to see the Cincinnati offense look competent for the first time all season. Green remains a WR1 in all formats.

Bengals | A.J. Green has quiet night

Thu, 14 Sep 2017 21:50:59 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green tallied 67 yards on five receptions (13.4 yards per reception) against the Houston Texans in Week 2. He was targeted eight times in the loss.

Fantasy Tip: Green's final line isn't terrible, but 50 of those 67 yards came on one catch, leaving just 17 for the other four (4.3 YPC). He'll get his next chance to break out against a revamped yet unproven Green Bay Packers secondary in Week 3. He's too talented to keep out of your lineup, and you certainly wouldn't want to sell low on him now. Stay the course.

Bengals | A.J. Green targeted 10 times in loss

Sun, 10 Sep 2017 18:21:11 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green posted five receptions for 74 yards on a game-high 10 targets in Week 1 against the Ravens.

Fantasy Tip: A couple of times Andy Dalton got in trouble trying to force it into his favorite receiver and the results weren't terribly favorable. The Cincinnati offense was terrible, getting shut out in the loss, but Green still wasn't a total disaster from a fantasy perspective.

Bengals | A.J. Green targeted heavily before injury

Sat, 22 Jul 2017 09:21:48 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green saw a 32.3-percent target share in Weeks 1 through 10 before he was lost for the season with a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Tip: Much of Green's heavy involvement had to do with the prolonged absence of Tyler Eifert as well as the struggles of the running game and the departure of Marvin Jones as well as Mohamed Sanu. Owners should expect the target share to fall back down closer to the 25-percent range - more typical for elite receivers - following the return of Eifert as well as the additions of John Ross and Joe Mixon. He remains firmly in the WR1 conversation, however.

Bengals | A.J. Green focused on winning

Sat, 01 Jul 2017 19:07:07 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green said he wouldn't mind seeing fewer targets this season if it means the other receivers are contributing and the team is winning.

Fantasy Tip: Even if Green does see a few less targets, his role as Andy Dalton's go-to receiver isn't changing any time soon. He is a safe bet to deliver WR1 production again in 2017.

Fri, 30 Jun 2017 20:43:36 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR Cody Core is seeing the benefits from the playing time he received last year when WR A.J. Green was injured, according to head coach Marvin Lewis. "It gives him the confidence to come out and work in the offseason and know that he can achieve higher goals," Lewis said.

Bengals | A.J. Green wants to play a while

Tue, 30 May 2017 12:11:02 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green wants to play seven more years in the NFL, according to Geoff Hobson of bengals.com.

Fantasy Tip: Playing seven more seasons would put Green at a total of 13 seasons. That would be quite a career for one of the game's top receivers. Green has dealt with injuries over the course of his six seasons so far, especially last year, but he remains a top five fantasy receiver and deserves to be selected in the late-first or early-second round.

Bengals | A.J. Green cleared

Wed, 01 Mar 2017 08:32:00 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) has been cleared for offseason work.

Fantasy Tip: Green is still firmly entrenched into the discussion of top-five receivers in fantasy. He should be off the board in the first couple of rounds.

Sat, 31 Dec 2016 08:19:06 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) was placed on season-ending injured reserve Saturday, Dec. 31.

Fantasy Tip: The 28-year-old Green had 66 receptions, 964 receiving yards and four touchdowns through 10 games this season. He will be completely healthy for the start of the 2017 campaign and should be viewed as a high-end WR1 in all fantasy formats.

Bengals | A.J. Green not happy?

Thu, 29 Dec 2016 20:45:04 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green hasn't been around much and hasn't been attending team meetings this week, according to players.

Fantasy Tip: Green declared himself ready to return from a hamstring injury prior to the Week 16 contest, so he is likely unhappy about being held out the final two games and missing out on a chance to reach 1,000 yards. The decision is understandable considering the Bengals have nothing to play for, and Green will still be a WR1 when 2017 rolls around.

Wed, 28 Dec 2016 09:37:26 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) won't play in Week 17, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.

Fantasy Tip: Brandon LaFell has had two really good games in a row, capped off by a 6-130-1 line last week. The Baltimore Ravens aren't a great matchup, but LaFell is a high-end WR3 option this week.

Bengals | A.J. Green has milestone in sights

Tue, 27 Dec 2016 17:58:36 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green can become the second wide receiver in NFL history to attain 1,000 yards receiving in his first six seasons. Green needs 36 yards in Week 17 to accomplish the feat.

Fantasy Tip: It would be even more impressive if Green gets to 1,000 yards this year considering the fact that he has only played in 10 games so far. He's a perennial WR1 and should be drafted as such for the 2017 season.

Sat, 24 Dec 2016 09:31:38 -0800

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) is not playing in Week 16 because the ownership decided to hold him out, according to sources. Green was not happy with the decision and it is not known known if he is still with the team or if he flew back to Cincinnati.

Fantasy Tip: Green is not expected to play again this season, so owners should look for other options to use in their lineups. Green should be fine for next season and will be a No. 1 receiver in all leagues.

Sat, 24 Dec 2016 06:50:01 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) will not play in Week 16's game against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: Green was a limited participant in the team's first two practice sessions during the week before practicing fully Friday, Dec. 23. However, the Bengals have decided to hold him out of action as a precautionary measure. WRs Tyler Boyd and Brandon LaFell will continue to see a decent number of targets and should be viewed as low-end flex options for deep seasonal leagues.

Bengals | A.J. Green practices in full

Fri, 23 Dec 2016 13:54:29 -0800

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 23, and is listed as questionable for Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: Green expects to play in Week 16 but likely will receive limited snaps because he has missed multiple weeks. Owners can consider Green as a risky No. 3 receiver but should not count on a big game from him.

Bengals | A.J. Green questionable

Fri, 23 Dec 2016 11:05:59 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) is listed as questionable on the team's injury report, although he has already confirmed he's been cleared to play in Week 16 versus the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: With so many key offensive players banged up, the Bengals certainly need him. However, he has been limited in practice all week and there's virtually no chance Cincinnati will push him to play full-time snaps in a meaningless contest after sitting out the previous four games. Owners who made it this far without Green probably have enough options at receiver to leave him on the bench during fantasy championship week.

Thu, 22 Dec 2016 09:34:09 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) said he believes he is healthy enough to play in Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: Green probably will see limited snaps if he is active for Week 16 because he has missed several games because of the injury. Green should still see some targets during the game, but owners should consider him as a No. 3 receiver.

Wed, 21 Dec 2016 08:54:52 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) is taking part in practice Wednesday, Dec. 21.

Fantasy Tip: It's fair to consider Green a top-five player at the position, and the signs are good for him to play this weekend. However, he has been out for a month. Expectations should be tempered from his usual WR1 stature against the Houston Texans.

Updating previous reports, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) will not play in Week 15's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Cincinnati's tentative plan is for Green to return to action in Week 16 versus the Houston Texans. He had been listed as doubtful on the injury report despite participating in all three practice sessions during the week on a limited basis. WRs Tyler Boyd and Brandon LaFell are low-end flex options for deep seasonal leagues, while TE Tyler Eifert should see a decent number of targets inside the red zone.

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) will work out before the Week 15 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the team is not optimistic about his chances to play.

Fantasy Tip: With Green unlikely to play, Tyler Boyd will have some appeal as a flex option, and Tyler Eifert should be one of the top tight end plays.

Bengals | A.J. Green limited Friday

Fri, 16 Dec 2016 13:32:14 -0800

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 16. He has been listed as doubtful for Week 15.

Fantasy Tip: Green probably needs another week of practice before he is ready to play, so Week 16 is a more realistic return date for Green. Brandon LaFell and Tyler Boyd will receive most of the work at receiver but should only be considered flex option in deeper leagues.

Bengals | A.J. Green doubtful

Fri, 16 Dec 2016 10:30:22 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) has been listed as doubtful for Week 15 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fantasy Tip: It's not a surprise, but limited practices this week put him in a good position to return for Week 16 versus the Houston Texans. Tyler Boyd and Brandon LaFell will continue to serve as the starting wideouts and have some low-end flex appeal, while Tyler Eifert should hog the majority of targets inside the 20.

Thu, 15 Dec 2016 08:28:44 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) is practicing again Thursday, Dec. 15.

Fantasy Tip: He did limited work yesterday, and he'll probably be limited again today. The Pittsburgh Steelers have been good against opposing WRs the last five weeks. Green will be a risky option if he suits up, and he can't be counted on as your first option.

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) is expected to practice Wednesday, Dec. 14, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.

Fantasy Tip: Green will be a risky start for the fantasy playoffs this week. His matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers is mediocre and he could be limited after missing multiple weeks with a hamstring tear. If Green practices fully, then it will be hard not to start him, however.

Bengals | A.J. Green uncertain for Week 13

Mon, 28 Nov 2016 12:47:17 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) is unlikely to play in Week 13 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but head coach Marvin Lewis use the term "partly cloudy" when referring to his receiver's likely status.

Fantasy Tip: Beat writer Paul Dehner translated the comment as "not happening," which is exactly how fantasy owners should proceed. Tyler Eifert should see another heavy dose of targets, while rookie Tyler Boyd should be a serviceable WR3 in PPR leagues. Brandon LaFell should remain off the radar in most leagues.
