New York Yankees SP Andy Pettitte (back) said his trapezius muscle wasn't tight and he wasn't hurting after the game Thursday, May 16, but he's unsure if he'll have to miss his next start Tuesday, May 21, against the Baltimore Orioles. A team doctor thinks Pettitte was just dealing with a spasm. Pettitte allowed four hits and struck out five Thursday. Pettitte is 4-3 with a 3.83 ERA in eight starts this season. The team could use SP Adam Warren in the rotation if Pettitte has to miss time. Warren is 1-0 with a 1.37 ERA over 19 2/3 innings this year, and he's currently working out of the bullpen.

Fantasy Tip: Pettitte dealt with back spasms last month, too, although it isn't surprising for a pitcher who has has multiple injury issues over the past several seasons and who is turning 41 next month. Warren should only intrigue those in AL-only leagues if he receives a few starts.

New York Yankees SP Hiroki Kuroda (finger) will throw a bullpen session Friday, April 5, which will determine if he can make his next start. SP Adam Warren could take Kuroda's spot in the rotation if he can't go. Ps Vidal Nuno and Chien-Ming Wang are other possibilities.

The New York Yankees moved SP Andy Pettitte (ankle) to the 60-day disabled list Thursday, June 28, after he fractured his fibula during his outing Wednesday, June 27. He will be in a boot and on crutches during his recovery. Ps Adam Warren and Ryota Igarashi were recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
