Minnesota Twins SP Scott Diamond is making the start against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Tuesday, May 8. He was 4-1 with a 2.60 ERA in six starts with Triple-A Rochester this year. "My curveball's a little more sharp right now," Diamond said. "I'm using it a little more as an out pitch and even to get ahead later in the game, so it's been working well."

Minnesota Twins SP Scott Diamond improved to 4-0 with a win Sunday, April 22, with Triple-A Rochester. Diamond has a sparkling 1.07 ERA through four starts, and might be a potential replacement in the rotation if the team plans to remove SP Francisco Liriano from the starting five. Diamond is already on the 40-man roster.

Minnesota Twins SP Scott Diamond resumed throwing shortly after Thanksgiving, and he plans to report early to the team's spring training complex this month. "I shut it down for a little bit," Diamond said. "But I'm one of those guys who feels like the longer I shut it down, the rustier I get. So I only took about two weeks off from throwing and was playing catch three to four days a week. It was nothing big - just keeping the changeup and curveball where (they) need to be." He is hoping to win a spot in the bullpen out of spring training.

Minnesota Twins SP Brian Duensing is a likely candidate to move to the bullpen after starting in 2011. General manager Terry Ryan said the team won't decide that until spring training. "We've got a situation there where we've got probably six, seven, eight guys that will be in the area of starting and potential to be starters," Ryan said. "I wouldn't eliminate Duensing. I wouldn't eliminate (SP Anthony Swarzak). I wouldn't eliminate (P Matt Maloney). I wouldn't eliminate (P Scott Diamond). We're going to end up opening that thing up down there. Obviously we'll have decisions to make."
