Wed, 17 Apr 2013 17:00:01 -0700 Minnesota Twins SP Vance Worley was scheduled to start Wednesday, April 17, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, but the game was postponed due to inclement weather. Worley will now start Friday, April 19, in the series opener against the Chicago White Sox, with SPs Scott Diamond and Kevin Correia pitching the other two weekend games.
Sat, 13 Apr 2013 10:38:53 -0700 The Minnesota Twins have activated SP Scott Diamond (elbow) from the 15-day disabled list. In a corresponding move, SP Liam Hendriks was optioned to Triple-A Rochester.
Fri, 05 Apr 2013 21:19:48 -0700 Minnesota Twins SP Scott Diamond (elbow) appears to be on track to make his regular season debut near the end of next week, or perhaps next weekend. Fantasy Tip: Diamond started the season on the 15-day disabled list. He might slide into the fifth starter spot when he is healthy, making him worth a look in deeper AL-only formats.
Wed, 03 Apr 2013 15:08:37 -0700 Minnesota Twins SPs Scott Diamond (elbow) and Anthony Swarzak (ribs) both pitched in extended spring training Tuesday, April 2, and received positive reports. Diamond struck out seven hitters in five innings and will start again for Single-A Fort Myers Sunday, April 7, and could rejoin the rotation by April 12. Swarzak struck out five in four innings Tuesday but isn't expected to return when eligible Saturday, April 6. Fantasy Tip: Check to see if Diamond is available in AL leagues. Swarzak is more of a long relief option out of the bullpen, so he can be ignored aside from the cavernous AL-only formats.
Thu, 28 Mar 2013 13:49:28 -0700 Minnesota Twins SP Scott Diamond (elbow) tossed 65 pitches in a minor league game Thursday, March 28, and he'll have two more outings before joining the team April 12.
Fri, 22 Mar 2013 10:50:37 -0700 The Minnesota Twins placed SPs Anthony Swarzak (ribs) and Scott Diamond (elbow) on the 15-day disabled list Friday, March 22.
Mon, 18 Mar 2013 13:00:23 -0700 Minnesota Twins SPs Scott Diamond (elbow) and Anthony Swarzak (ribs) are both making progress from their injuries but are expected to open the season on the disabled list. Diamond will make his first spring start against minor leaguers Monday, March 18, throwing two innings. He's expected to rejoin the rotation in mid-April. Swarzak is throwing bullpens and hasn't had any setbacks, but he needs to be stretched out for his role as a long reliever. Fantasy Tip: Don't bet on a repeat of Diamond's 2012 performance, but he can still be a solid option for rotation depth in AL-only leagues. Swarzak can be ignored in most formats.
Fri, 01 Mar 2013 15:28:38 -0800 Minnesota Twins SP Scott Diamond (elbow) is optimistic about being ready for opening day, and he should be ready to pitch in the first turn in the rotation.
Wed, 27 Feb 2013 14:48:42 -0800 Minnesota Twins SP Scott Diamond (elbow) will throw his first bullpen session Thursday, Feb. 28. SP Anthony Swarzak (ribs) will play catch for the first time Thursday.
Wed, 20 Feb 2013 13:18:22 -0800 Minnesota Twins SP Scott Diamond (elbow) is the front-runner to be the team's opening day starter depending on how he progresses from offseason elbow surgery. Diamond threw off the mound for the second straight day Wednesday, Feb. 20, and will throw a full bullpen Friday, Feb. 22, before facing hitters next week. "The ball is coming out good but it's just about finding the mechanics and that release point," Diamond said. "Everything is lining up, which is positive. I'm just trying to get out the kinks but structurally it feels awesome. I'm not having any discomfort or tightness the next day. So basically, the recovery is going really well."
