Thu, 30 May 2013 08:53:08 -0700 Indianapolis Colts TE Coby Fleener caught a pair of deep balls from QB Andrew Luck in practice Wednesday, May 29. Fleener said he's remembering more and more of the traits from new offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton, who ran the West Coast offense Fleener ran with Luck at the Stanford helm. Hamilton is expected to involve the position more often than his predecessor, Bruce Arians, did. "What did he have 20-, 30-some catches last year? That should double," head coach Chuck Pagano said. Fantasy Tip: Despite the projected increase in TE involvement, Dwayne Allen's presence limits Fleener's upside. Neither should be considered more than a fantasy backup you can't rely on week to week, but each has the potential to serve as a solid fill-in for byes and injuries.
Thu, 09 May 2013 10:10:55 -0700 Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck said he is very comfortable with the offense that offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton is bringing to the team. "I am 100 percent more comfortable," Luck said. "On this day last year, I was probably sitting in class. It is nice to be able to have the full offseason with the team. We have changed (offensive) coordinators, but I have had a great relationship with Pep Hamilton from before. To be around him and talk his style of offense has been great. It is just nice to be around the guys." Fantasy Tip: Luck performed will in his inaugural season in the NFL and there likely will not be much of an adjustment since Hamilton coached Luck at Stanford. Luck should be considered as a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback entering the season.
Wed, 17 Apr 2013 12:24:54 -0700 Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck said he is looking forward to playing in the offense that offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton is bringing to the team. Luck said the Hamilton's offense will incorporate West Coast offensive tendencies with the offense they ran this season.
Wed, 03 Apr 2013 10:08:41 -0700 Indianapolis Colts WR Darrius Heyward-Bey said part of the reason he signed with the Colts was because QB Andrew Luck is on the team. "It's a confidence thing," Heyward-Bey said. "You know (Luck) is going to be your quarterback. There's no question about that. In Oakland, there were times when we weren't sure going in week-by-week. We had to adjust on the fly. Knowing Andrew is back there, it feels good."
Fri, 08 Mar 2013 18:10:23 -0800 Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck was sacked 41 times in 2012, a franchise rookie record, and he was hit frequently. "I'll say this," general manager Ryan Grigson said, "Andrew has to get hit less." Reading the tea leaves, that means the Colts should pursue help in free agency or the NFL Draft for help. The team might be in the market for an elite OT and a starting OG.
Wed, 13 Feb 2013 12:04:52 -0800 Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck should not have a difficult transition learning new offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton's offense. The Colts new offense may even be better suited for Luck's skills.
Wed, 13 Feb 2013 11:51:25 -0800 New Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton praised QB Andrew Luck, saying the quarterback would know exactly what to do if there was a game today, and that they will get caught up quickly with the offense. "The one great built-in advantage that I've had since I've been here is the fact if we had to play a game today, the quarterback would know what to do," Hamilton said about Andrew Luck. "That gives you a peace of mind and ease knowing that, hey, we'll get there and we'll get caught up, but he's not going to have to re-learn or start at square one as far as his ability to go out and execute the offense."
Sun, 27 Jan 2013 20:44:11 -0800 Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck completed 12 of his 19 pass attempts for 205 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Pro Bowl Sunday, Jan. 27. He led all Pro Bowl passers in yardage, but he also lost one fumble.
Mon, 21 Jan 2013 16:29:51 -0800 Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton said he expects to use more of a west coast offense next season. "It'll be a variation of the West Coast (with) West Coast principles,'' Hamilton said. "The short, efficient passing game, a high completion rate." Hamilton ran the west coast offense at Stanford with QB Andrew Luck.
Mon, 21 Jan 2013 16:01:37 -0800 Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck will play in the 2013 Pro Bowl for the AFC squad, replacing New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (undisclosed), who won't participate due to an injury.
