Tampa Bay Rays RP Dane De La Rosa was shelled for five earned runs, four hits and two walks in an inning of work in his debut Saturday, April 14, against the Boston Red Sox. As a result, he was optioned back to Triple-A Durham, and the team recalled SP Alex Cobb.

The Tampa Bay Rays sent SS Tim Beckham to their minor league camp Sunday, March 18. The team also optioned P Matt Bush, P Dane De La Rosa and OF Brandon Guyer to Triple-A Durham, while C Stephen Vogt was also re-assigned to the team's minor league camp.

The Tampa Bay Rays are looking for another reliever, ideally but not necessarily one with high-leverage experience. The team believes it could fill the remaining spot internally from a group that includes RP's Josh Lueke, Cesar Ramos, Dane De La Rosa, Jhonny Nunez and potentially a starter who doesn't make the rotation.
