Updating a previous item, Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland refuted talk of RP Duane Below joining the rotation based on his performance Saturday, April 21. "Could he be? Yeah, I guess. But it won't be here right now, if that's what you're asking," Leyland said. "Because he's done good in the bullpen, everybody wants to know if I'm going to start him right now. And the answer to that is no -- emphatically no right now."

Detroit Tigers RP Duane Below was unavailable for the second game of a doubleheader against the Texas Rangers Saturday, April 21. Below worked six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and no walks with four strikeouts in a 68-pitch appearance. It was the longest scoreless relief outing by a Tigers pitcher since P Greg Kaegle worked 7 1/3 scoreless innings June 24, 1996.
