Arizona Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said SPs Trevor Cahill or Randall Delgado are candidates to be moved to the bullpen, but both pitchers are in line to make their next scheduled starts. RP Josh Collmenter is a possibility to be moved to the rotation, but he needs to be stretched out first.
Fantasy Tip: Cahill and Delgado are off to rough starts this year. Collmenter isn't the most intriguing SP, but he could be of use in deep NL-only leagues if he's moved to the rotation. Apparently the D-Backs don't feel that Archie Bradley is ready yet, which isn't surprising.

Updating previous reports, Arizona Diamondbacks SP Patrick Corbin (elbow) has a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow, and he may need season-ending surgery depending on what Dr. James Andrews finds in a second opinion. SP Wade Miley will now start the team's season opener in Australia against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Fantasy Tip: You should now avoid Corbin like the plague in all drafts. This will now open up a rotation spot for Archie Bradley, Randall Delgado or Josh Collmenter. Bradley clearly has the most upside of the trio if you are speculating with a late-round flier pick.

In the wake of the ulnar collateral ligament injury suffered by Arizona Diamondbacks SP Patrick Corbin (elbow), general manager Kevin Towers plans to use in-house options that could include SPs Randall Delgado, Archie Bradley, and Josh Collmenter, rather than seek a trade immediately.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have RPs Josh Collmenter, David Hernandez, J.J. Putz, Addison Reed, Joe Thatcher and Brad Ziegler appear to be locks for bullpen jobs, which might mean RP Will Harris is the odd man out. He has options remaining. RP Randall Delgado does not have options remaining, and that might mean Harris loses out in a numbers game.

Arizona Diamondbacks RP Josh Collmenter will make $925,000 this year and $1.4 million in 2015 in addition to a $100,000 signing bonus as part of his two-year deal to avoid arbitration. The club option for the 2016 season is worth $1.825 million and the contract also includes a $2 million mutual option for 2017. If he exercises the 2017 option and the team declines, he'll get a $150,000 buyout. If he turns down the option, the team can pick it up for $2.25 million.

The Arizona Diamondbacks avoided arbitration with RP Josh Collmenter Wednesday, Jan. 15, by agreeing to a two-year, $2.425 million deal that includes a club option and a mutual option. Collmenter can make as much as $6.5 million if both options are picked up.

Arizona Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson mentioned SP Tyler Skaggs and P Charles Brewer as possibilities to start Friday, July 5, in place of SP Trevor Cahill (hip). RP Josh Collmenter is also expected to be an option for the start.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Trevor Cahill (leg) is leaving his start early Wednesday, June 19, after being hit in the leg by a line drive.
Fantasy Tip: If Cahill needs to miss extended time, Tyler Skaggs and Josh Collmenter are the best options to replace him in the rotation. Skaggs is the best bet, since Kirk Gibson likes Collmenter in the long-relief role.

The Arizona Diamondbacks aren't saying how long SP Randall Delgado may stay in the starting rotation after taking the spot of SP Tyler Skaggs. The team didn't use P Josh Collmenter for the rotation because they think he fits best in a long-relief role. Manager Kirk Gibson isn't committing to Delgado past his start Tuesday, June 18, though.
Fantasy Tip: Delgado is making the start in place of Brandon McCarthy (shoulder). How Delgado fares tonight will likely determine if he'll remain in the rotation or if the D-backs will recall Tyler Skaggs. Delgado is purely NL-only fodder right now.
