Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura indicated Saturday, April 7, that SS Eduardo Escobar and OF Kosuke Fukudome would get a start soon. "I am sure in Cleveland (Fukudome) and (Escobar) will get a start. I don't want guys sitting on the bench six or seven days, going home and not have played yet," Ventura said.

The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms with Ps Dylan Axelrod, Anthony Carter, Simon Castro, Deunte Heath, Pedro Hernandez, Philip Humber, Gregory Infante, Nathan Jones, Charlie Leesman, Jhan Marinez, Nestor Molina, Jose Quintana, Addison Reed, Chris Sale, Hector Santiago, Zach Stewart and Donnie Veal, C Tyler Flowers, INFs Gordon Beckham, Eduardo Escobar, Brent Lillibridge, Osvaldo Martinez and Brent Morel and OF Alejandro De Aza on one-year deals.

Chicago White Sox INF Eduardo Escobar is working out at shortstop, second base and third base this spring in order to provide more flexibility as he attempts to win the utility infield job in spring training. He played mostly second base in winter ball but also saw time in the outfield and even as a pitcher in the minors.

Chicago White Sox IF Eduardo Escobar could be called on to play second base next year if 2B Gordon Beckham struggles. Escobar is currently being used as a shortstop, but the White Sox could make him into a second baseman if needed. He has been playing some second base in the Venezuelan Winter League.
