Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim manager Mike Scioscia is away from the team Sunday, May 22, in order to attend his son Matthew's graduation from Notre Dame. Bench coach Rob Picciolo will serve as the manager in his absence. He will rejoin the team Monday, May 23.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim hired Rob Picciolo as their new bench coach Wednesday, Nov. 10, according to CBSSports.com. Also, Gary DiSarcina was promoted to special assistant to the general manager and Steve Soliz was promoted from bullpen catcher to bullpen coach.
