The Kansas City Royals placed OF Lorenzo Cain (groin) on the 15-day disabled list Thursday, April 17, and recalled SP Justin Marks from Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Jarrod Dyson should benefit the most with Cain heading to the sidelines, but he could enter into a platoon in center field with Justin Maxwell. Add Dyson in deep mixed leagues and AL-onlys if your outfield depth is hurting.

The Kansas City Royals signed Ps Justin Marks, Louis Coleman and Kelvin Herrera, 3Bs Mike Moustakas and Danny Valencia, INF Cheslor Cuthbert and OF Lane Adams to undisclosed one-year deals Friday, Feb. 21. All players were not yet eligible for arbitration on major league contracts.

The Kansas City Royals agreed to one-year deals with P Everett Teaford ($507,250), OF Jarrod Dyson ($506,000), RP Nathan Adcock ($500,540), INF Irving Falu ($492,025) and Ps Chris Dwyer ($490,000), Donnie Joseph ($490,000) and Justin Marks ($490,000) Friday, Feb. 15. The salaries are what they will make if they remain in the majors the entire season.

Royals | Make roster moves

The Kansas City Royals added Ps John Lamb, Mike Montgomery, Chris Dwyer, Donnie Joseph, Justin Marks and Juan Gutierrez to their 40-man roster Tuesday, Nov. 20, in order to protect them from the Rule 5 Draft. As a result, Ps Vin Mazzaro, Chris Volstad and Ryan Verdugo, Cs Brayan Pena and Adam Moore, 1B Clint Robinson and OF Derrick Robinson were designated for assignment. Backup C Brett Hayes reached a one-year, $600,000 deal Tuesday.

The Kansas City Royals acquired SP Vin Mazzaro and P Justin Marks from the Oakland Athletics Wednesday, Nov. 10, in exchange for OF David DeJesus, according to The Kansas City Star's Bob Dutton. Mazzaro figures to join the team's rotation next year. With DeJesus leaving, the team's outfield next year figures to be OFs Alex Gordon in right, Gregor Blanco or Jarrod Dyson in center and Mitch Maier in left. Marks is expected to start the season at Single-A Wilmington.
