The Detroit Tigers have announced plans to retire the No. 11 jersey of former manager Sparky Anderson, according to MLB.com's Jason Beck. The date of the ceremony has not yet been determined. The Tigers will also wear a patch honoring Anderson during spring training games and raise a flag to remember him prior to their home opener on April 8.

Former manager Sparky Anderson died at the age of 76 Thursday, Nov. 4, according to MLB.com's Mark Sheldon. Anderson died as a result of complications from dementia. KFFL offers its condolences to Anderson's family and friends.
