Los Angeles Dodgers OF Matt Kemp's agent, former MLB SP Dave Stewart, thinks Dodgers new first-base coach Davey Lopes can bring out the best in Kemp, the Los Angeles Times' Dylan Hernandez reports. Kemp and Lopes are very good friends, and Stewart said Kemp will have someone he trusts. Lopes, who has known Kemp for several years through Stewart, said he has already reached out to the center fielder. The two talked over the phone last week about Kemp's off-season workout program.

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced the finalization of their coaching staff Monday, Nov. 22, according to ESPNLosAngeles.com's Tony Jackson. The team has agreed with first base coach Davey Lopes, bench coach Trey Hillman, hitting coach Jeff Pentland, third base coach Tim Wallach, pitching coach Rick Honeycutt and bullpen coach Ken Howell. Dave Hansen will join the team as a secondary hitting coach.

Philadelphia Phillies first base coach Davey Lopes will not be returning to the team for the 2011 season, according to The Sports Network. The team offered him a one-year deal, but both sides were not able to agree on a salary.
