The Baltimore Orioles optioned P Oliver Drake to Double-A Bowie Thursday, March 15, and will also send C Caleb Joseph to minor league camp. 1B Joe Mahoney was sent to Triple-A Norfolk Wednesday, March 14.

The Baltimore Orioles have agreed to terms with Ps Jake Arrieta, Jason Berken, Zach Britton, Oliver Drake, Tommy Hunter, Troy Patton, Zach Phillips, Alfredo Simon, Pedro Strop and Chris Tillman, C Taylor Teagarden, INFs Ryan Adams, Josh Bell, Chris Davis, Ryan Flaherty and Joe Mahoney and OF Nolan Reimold on one-year contracts.

Baltimore Orioles 1B Joe Mahoney (quadriceps) will be sidelined for three to four weeks with a strained quadriceps. Mahoney was the organization's 2010 minor league Player of the Year.

The Baltimore Orioles made some minor league moves Wednesday, May 4. Double-A Bowie 1B Joe Mahoney will likely be placed on the 7-day disabled list due to an undisclosed injury. 1B William Rowell (undisclosed) is already on the DL, while OF Kyle Hudson was transferred to Bowie from Class A Frederick. C Adam Donachie was also transferred to Bowie from Class A Aberdeen.

The Baltimore Orioles have unilaterally renewed the contracts of 22 players for the 2011 season, according to The Sports Network. SP Jake Arrieta and C Matt Wieters were renewed, along with IF's Robert Andino, Josh Bell, Pedro Florimon, Luis Lebron, Joe Mahoney and Brandon Snyder; OF's Matt Angle and Nolan Reimold; P's Brad Bergesen, Jason Berken, Zach Britton, Brandon Erbe, Troy Patton, Adrian Rosario, Alfredo Simon, Chorye Spoone, Chris Tillman, Rick VandenHurk and Pedro Viola; and C's Jake Fox and Craig Tatum.

Baltimore Orioles 1B Joe Mahoney (wrist), who is playing winter ball in Venezuela, suffered a right wrist sprain on Wednesday, Oct. 20, in the only game that he has played for Bravos de Margarita. Mahoney went 0-for-4 in that game with three strikeouts, and apparently suffered the injury on one of the swings. The Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec reported Mahoney had a magnetic resonance imaging performed and that didn't reveal anything serious, according to a team official.
