The Oakland Athletics have opted to bring back first-base coach Tye Waller and third-base coach Mike Gallego for the 2012 season.

The Oakland Athletics hired Joel Skinner as their new bench coach and Gerald Perry as their new hitting coach Wednesday, Oct. 20, according to The Associated Press. Skinner replaces Tye Waller, who will now serve as the first base coach. Waller replaces Todd Steverson. Previous hitting coach Jim Skaalen's contract was not renewed. Pitching coach Curt Young, third base coach Mike Gallego and bullpen coach Ron Romanick will all return.
