The Boston Red Sox were denied permission to interview Los Angeles Dodgers third base coach Tim Wallach for their managerial vacancy.

Boston Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington is expected to interview Los Angeles Dodgers third base coach Tim Wallach, Milwaukee Brewers hitting coach Dale Sveum, Philadelphia Phillies bench coach Pete Mackanin and Tampa Bay Rays bench coach Dave Martinez for the team's managerial vacancy. The Red Sox could also be interested in Ryne Sandberg, who is currently the manager of Triple-A Lehigh Valley in the Philadelphia Phillies' organization, although the Chicago Cubs may also be interested in Sandberg if manager Mike Quade is not retained for next season.

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced the finalization of their coaching staff Monday, Nov. 22, according to ESPNLosAngeles.com's Tony Jackson. The team has agreed with first base coach Davey Lopes, bench coach Trey Hillman, hitting coach Jeff Pentland, third base coach Tim Wallach, pitching coach Rick Honeycutt and bullpen coach Ken Howell. Dave Hansen will join the team as a secondary hitting coach.

Los Angeles Dodgers minor league manager Tim Wallach is no longer a candidate for the Milwaukee Brewers' vacant managerial position, according to MLB.com's Ken Gurnick. Wallach is most likely to serve as the Dodgers' third base coach next year.

Los Angeles Dodgers Triple-A Albuquerque manager Tim Wallach has a list of teams he can interview with for another job and a list of teams he can't speak to, ESPNLosAngeles.com's Tony Jackson reports. Wallach was allowed to make those lists himself while negotiating his deal, which a source said was unusually beneficial to Wallach in terms of both length and financial compensation.

Jeff Pentland looks to be the favorite to be named hitting coach. Pitching coach Rick Honeycutt will return, but third base coach Larry Bowa will not be back. Tim Wallach could join the team as the third base coach.

Los Angeles Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti said he will not reveal the coaching staff for manager Don Mattingly until all of the positions have been filled, according to MLB.com's Ken Gurnick. However, there are strong indications that pitching coach Rick Honeycutt, bullpen coach Ken Howell and hitting instructor Manny Mota will return. Tim Wallach, manager of the Triple-A Albuquerque farm team, is expected to be named third-base coach. Larry Bowa and Mariano Duncan, who served as base coaches under manager Joe Torre during the 2010 season, are not expected to return, while bench coach Bob Schaefer announced earlier this month that he will not be back.

The Toronto Blue Jays have been denied a request to interview Los Angeles Dodgers minor league manager Tim Wallach for their managerial opening, according to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal. Wallach's contract with the Dodgers only allows him to interview with certain teams. He recently interviewed with the Milwaukee Brewers and is also a candidate for the managerial job with the Florida Marlins.
