The Pittsburgh Pirates hired Nick Leyva as their new third base coach Wednesday, Nov. 24, according to The Associated Press. Leyva will also coach the infielders. Pitching coach Ray Searage and bench coach Jeff Banister were retained. Gregg Ritchie has been promoted to the major league staff. Luis Silverio will be the team's first base coach and Euclides Rojas will serve as the bullpen coach.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have narrowed down their managerial search to include bench coach Jeff Banister and Texas Rangers hitting coach Clint Hurdle, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Bill Brink. Hurdle will be interviewed this week.
