Atlanta Braves SP Brandon Beachy (elbow) will begin his rehab assignment at Triple-A Gwinnett Sunday, May 19.
Fantasy Tip: He should need 2-3 starts before returning. Start stashing him if you haven't done so already.

Atlanta Braves SP Brandon Beachy (elbow) threw 29 pitches in two extended spring training innings Tuesday, May 14, and he topped out at 92-93 mph. He'll throw one more time in extended spring training before heading to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Fantasy Tip: Beachy is humming along in his rehab and appears to be ahead of schedule. Temper your expectations, though, since most pitchers making a return from Tommy John surgery suffer some sort of setback along the way. Put him on your radar in deep mixed leagues for now and keep tabs on his performances during a minor league rehab stint.

Atlanta Braves SP Brandon Beachy (elbow) will throw two innings at extended spring training Tuesday, May 14, and will make his first rehab start with Triple-A Gwinnett Sunday, May 19.
Fantasy Tip: Beachy has made excellent progress in his rehab from Tommy John surgery recently, and he's becoming a realistic option for the Bravos' rotation in the next month or two. Who he might replace in the rotation is unknown, but you should put his name on your watch list in mixed leagues if you haven't already.

Atlanta Braves SP Brandon Beachy (elbow) will begin his minor league rehab assignment Tuesday, May 14, when he is scheduled to pitch two innings in an extended spring training game.
Thu, 09 May 2013 16:46:52 -0700
Atlanta Braves SP Brandon Beachy (elbow) threw his final batting practice session Thursday, May 9, and he'll throw a bullpen Sunday, May 12. He could begin a rehab assignment at the end of next week.
Fantasy Tip: If you haven't already, put this guy on your watch list for the next couple of months. With Julio Teheran struggling to keep up his spot in the rotation, Beachy is a candidate that could replace him when he's fully recovered from Tommy John surgery. Temper your expectations, though, since most pitchers encounter a setback along their recovery trail and also experience velocity and command issues when they initially return.

Atlanta Braves SP Brandon Beachy (elbow) threw another bullpen session Friday, May 3, and will have two more bullpen sessions before going on a rehab assignment consisting of six or seven starts.
Fantasy Tip: The Braves won't rush Beachy along by any means, but when he's fully healthy, they'll likely find a place for him in their rotation. That means you should start considering stashing him on your deep mixed roster if you have the room.

Atlanta Braves SP Brandon Beachy (elbow) threw his second live batting practice session Sunday, April 28. He will throw three or four more batting practice sessions before he will be cleared for a six-start minor league rehab program. Beachy will throw again Tuesday, April 30, working up from five-minute sessions on the mound. If he doesn't have any setbacks, he'll likely begin his rehab assignment in mid-May and return around the end of June.

Atlanta Braves SP Brandon Beachy (elbow) tossed five minutes of batting practice Friday, April 26, for the first time since having Tommy John surgery 10 months ago.
Fantasy Tip: Beachy won't be ready to return until mid-summer. However, he's a starting pitcher who is coming off Tommy John surgery, which isn't a ringing endorsement to own him for the second half of the season. Pitchers returning from TJS often struggled with command for a stretch of time when they initially return. The Braves have plenty of rotation options, too.

The Atlanta Braves placed SP Brandon Beachy (elbow) on the 15-day disabled list, as he continues to recover from Tommy John surgery.
Fantasy Tip: Beachy is aiming for a return from surgery right around the one-year anniversary of his surgery, or late June. Unless you have plenty of roster flexibility, it might be good to avoid Beachy until around Memorial Day. Then, try and stash him and hope he returns and pitches to his capabilities.
