Braves | Tyler Moore traded to Atlanta

Sun, 27 Mar 2016 14:00:00 -0700

Washington Nationals 1B/OF Tyler Moore was traded to the Atlanta Braves on Sunday, March 27, in exchange for 1B Nate Freiman.

Fantasy Tip: Moore may not be relevant in fantasy anytime soon, but his path to playing time is much clearer than it was 24 hours ago. The 29-year-old, who is expected to report to minor-league camp initially, provides the Braves with some insurance should injuries hit Freddie Freeman or Atlanta's mostly unproven outfield.

Nationals | Nate Freiman acquired from Braves

Sun, 27 Mar 2016 13:39:16 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Nate Freiman was acquired by the Washington Nationals on Sunday, March 27, in exchange for 1B/OF Tyler Moore.

Fantasy Tip: The 29-year-old Freiman is batting .120 this spring after signing a minor-league deal over the winter. He batted .220 at Triple-A last season and is obviously a long ways from fantasy relevance.

Nationals | Tyler Moore placed on waivers

Fri, 25 Mar 2016 00:50:02 -0700

Washington Nationals 1B/OF Tyler Moore was placed on waivers Thursday, March 24.

Fantasy Tip: It is not sure whether the Nationals are seeking to release Moore or outright him to the minors, but Moore was a victim of no roster spot available. His fantasy value is lower because of a lifetime .224 batting average in the majors and a .129 average this spring.

Nationals | Tyler Moore takes grounders at 3B

Sat, 27 Feb 2016 21:20:28 -0800

Washington Nationals 1B-OF Tyler Moore took grounders at third base Saturday, Feb. 27. He took grounders there last season, too, but has never appeared at the position as a professional. Moore is out of options, so the team has a tough decision to make with him this spring.

Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners would love it if Moore could add another position of eligibility. Moore is worth a look in NL-only fantasy leagues in the later rounds, but avoid him in mixed play for now.

Nationals | Jayson Werth grabs some pine

Sat, 03 Oct 2015 15:41:35 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth is out of the lineup for Game 2 of a doubleheader Saturday, Oct. 3, with OF Tyler Moore hitting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Moore ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has struggled all season and isn't a good option against Matt Harvey on FantasyScore.

Nationals | Ryan Zimmerman replacements producing

Mon, 21 Sep 2015 15:57:46 -0700

Washington Nationals 1Bs Clint Robinson and Tyler Moore have combined for a 1.008 OPS over the 12 games Ryan Zimmerman (oblique) has missed due to injury.

Fantasy Tip: Zimmerman's ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) status is unknown at this point, so expect Robinson ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) and Moore ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) to continue their platoon at first base with Zimmerman on the shelf. Both offer nice value at FantasyScore while hitting well, and especially Robinson, as he has been slotting into the heart of the batting order.

Nationals | Tyler Moore playing first base

Sat, 19 Sep 2015 12:06:50 -0700

Washington Nationals 1B Tyler Moore will bat eighth against Miami Marlins SP Brad Hand Saturday, Sept. 19. 1B/OF Clint Robinson is not in the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Moore ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is only batting .202 with four home runs and 23 RBIs through 168 at-bats this season and is not a great FantasyScore option this afternoon.

Nationals | Ryan Zimmerman out again vs. Miami

Fri, 11 Sep 2015 13:07:00 -0700

Washington Nationals 1B Ryan Zimmerman (oblique) is not in the starting lineup Friday, Sept. 11. 1B Tyler Moore is starting at first base and batting eighth against Miami Marlins SP Jarred Cosart Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Zimmerman ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) could be out for a prolonged time, but without the need for a stint on the disabled list, fantasy owners will have to keep playing the wait-and-see game. Those unable to sit and wait can drop Zimmerman for a healthy contributor in all formats. Moore ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) owns a .197/.249/.344 slash line this season, and he is nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief at FantasyScore Friday.

Nationals | Ryan Zimmerman not playing Sunday

Sun, 06 Sep 2015 09:35:54 -0700

Washington Nationals 1B Ryan Zimmerman is not in the starting lineup against Atlanta Braves SP Manny Banuelos Sunday, Sept. 6. OF Tyler Moore will start at first base and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Zimmerman ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) likely will return to the lineup in the next game or two. Moore ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is hitting only .203 in limited playing time this season and should not be a starting option.
