Nationals | Tyler Moore practices at third base

Sat, 18 Apr 2015 11:27:56 -0700

Washington Nationals OF/1B Tyler Moore was spotted fielding grounders at third base Saturday, April 18, and the team considers him to be the contingency plan at the hot corner in case another infielder gets injured. 3B Anthony Rendon (knee) remains on the disabled list and INF Yunel Escobar (groin) left the game against the Philadelphia Phillies Friday, April 17, because of a strained groin.

Fantasy Tip: INF Danny Espinosa is playing third base Saturday. 1B Ryan Zimmerman, who has played 1,133 career games at third, is not being considered as an emergency option at the position.

Mon, 13 Apr 2015 08:02:28 -0700

Nationals | Bryce Harper placed on disabled list

Sun, 27 Apr 2014 07:34:15 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper (thumb) was placed on the disabled list with a left thumb sprain. In a corresponding move, the team recalled Steven Souza from Triple-A Syracuse.

Fantasy Tip: With Harper out, the team will likely turn to a combination of Kevin Frandsen and Nate McLouth in left field, depending on the pitching matchups, but Tyler Moore could also factor in. Frandsen and McLouth are options for NL-only managers in the short term. The good news for Harper is that he may have avoided a serious injury, but keep tabs on his status. He's going for a second opinion. Souza, who has been hot down on the farm, could also be in consideration.
