St. Louis Cardinals minor league RP Jordan Swagerty (elbow) will undergo a pair of surgical procedures early next week and is expected to miss the entire 2012 season. He will have bone spurs removed from his right elbow and undergo Tommy John surgery to repair a compromised ligament.

The St. Louis Cardinals assigned RP Jordan Swagerty (triceps) to minor league camp Monday, March 5. He had thrown just two bullpen sessions this spring before being shut down with stiffness in his right triceps. He will visit with a doctor Tuesday, March 6, to determine his next step.

St. Louis Cardinals P Jordan Swagerty (triceps) is out indefinitely while dealing with triceps stiffness. Tests have shown no structural damage in his arm. Swagerty is expected to start the year in the rotation in the minors.

St. Louis Cardinals SP Jordan Swagerty (arm) is dealing with some arm discomfort and was held off the mound Tuesday, Feb. 21, as a precaution. He took part in other drills designed for pitchers, though.

St. Louis Cardinals RP Jordan Swagerty will go back to being a starting pitcher this season. The Cards were wary of overworking Swagerty in the minors last season so they moved him to the bullpen. He could begin the year in Double-A Springfield's rotation.

Swindle, Cs Luis de la Cruz, Koyie Hill, Steven Hill, Cody Stanley and Robert Stock, IFs Matt Adams, Ryan Jackson and Kolten Wong and OF Eugenio Velez.

The St. Louis Cardinals promoted P Maikel Cleto to the Double-A Springfield rotation, and P Jordan Swagerty took his place with Class A Palm Beach.
