Red Sox | Brandon Workman struggles Friday

Sat, 09 Jul 2016 09:13:30 -0700

Boston Red Sox SP Brandon Workman (side, elbow) was removed as a precautionary measure from his rehab appearance for Class A Lowell Friday, July 8, after experiencing some pain in his side. He faced five batters without recording an out, allowing two hits and two walks.

Fantasy Tip: Workman was making the second appearance of his rehab assignment after previously participating in extended spring training following Tommy John surgery. His fastball hovered between 87-89 mph Friday, and topped out at 91 mph. Workman's expected role once he rejoins the parent club remains uncertain, so he can be avoided in all fantasy formats.
