Baltimore Orioles SPs Kevin Gausman and Dylan Bundy are considered untouchable in trade talks at the deadline, according to multiple sources. It's likely the reason the team hasn't been able to work out a trade for Boston Red Sox SP Jon Lester.
Fantasy Tip: We don't blame the O's for not wanting to budge on Gausman or Bundy. If the two can stay healthy, they could form a very formidable top of the rotation for years to come, something that Baltimore hasn't had in quite some time.

The Colorado Rockies asked for Baltimore Orioles SP Kevin Gausman during trade talks involving Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa. One source said a Baltimore insider called it a "non-starter."
Fantasy Tip: Don't blame them. Gausman has big upside, while JDLR's skills have been pitching on thin ice for many of the last few seasons. Either of these pieces, however, would be a prime FAAB target after the trade deadline if they switch locales.

Baltimore Orioles SP Kevin Gausman will not have a pitch or innings limit in the second half. "The wrappers are off," manager Buck Showalter said Wednesday, July 16. Gausman will start the third game out of the All-Star break Sunday, July 20.
Fantasy Tip: Gausman has been impressive, and he is only going to get better for fantasy owners. He is especially valuable in long-term keeper formats.

The Baltimore Orioles recalled SP Kevin Gausman from Triple-A Norfolk and placed SP Ubaldo Jimenez (ankle) on the 15-day disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: Gausman is a good pitcher to round out your fantasy rotation if he's given a full-time spot in the rotation.

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Orioles SP Kevin Gausman is expected to start Sunday, July 13, against the New York Yankess and Sunday, July 20, against the Oakland Athletics.
Fantasy Tip: This news bodes well for Gausman sticking in the rotation.

Correcting a previous report, Baltimore Orioles SP Kevin Gausman will start Sunday, July 20, at the Oakland Athletics, according to manager Buck Showalter.
Fantasy Tip: There is a significant difference between a home start against the New York Yankees and a road start in Oakland. Consider this start a true audition for Gausman. Risk-averse owners would be wise to avoid this matchup. Gausman is a good long-term target in most formats and has a good shot at sticking in the rotation for much of the second half.

Baltimore Orioles SP Ubaldo Jimenez (ankle) will be placed on the disabled list after rolling his ankle Wednesday, July 9. SP Kevin Gausman will be recalled to start Saturday, July 12, or Sunday, July 13, against the New York Yankees.
Fantasy Tip: Jimenez is having a dreadful season; he has three wins, a 4.52 ERA and a league-leading 60 walks. At this point, Jimenez cannot be started with confidence and isn't worth a roster spot in mixed leagues. Gausman is pushing for an official spot in the Orioles rotation. He has upside and should be on your radar in all formats. Strongly consider starting Gausman against the Yankees.

Baltimore Orioles SP Kevin Gausman won't be on an innings limit during his start for Triple-A Norfolk Sunday, July 13, according to manager Buck Showalter.
Fantasy Tip: Those stashing Gausman in AL-only or cavernous mixed leagues will be happy with this news. The Orioles aren't expected to limit him for the rest of the year, even if he returns to the major leagues.

Contrary to a previous report, Baltimore Orioles SP Kevin Gausman will no longer be on an innings limit, according to manager Buck Showalter.
Fantasy Tip: Stash Gausman in AL-only leagues. There's a good chance he could be up again quickly in the second half of the season. If he returns to the starting rotation for a lengthy period, he's worthy for consideration in deep mixed leagues, too.

The Baltimore Orioles are trying to limit SP Kevin Gausman's innings and preserve him for later in the season. He's currently at 78 2/3 frames between the majors and minors, and the O's want to keep him in the 160-170 range combined.
