The Baltimore Orioles remain confident they will be able to sign first-round draft pick SS Manny Machado, although talks aren't expected to heat up until Monday, Aug. 16, according to MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli. However, the team is not expected to sign Ps Dixon Anderson and Matthew Bywater, their selections in the sixth and seventh rounds, respectively. Scouting director Joe Jordan said he knew both players would be difficult to sign but drafted them because they were considered the best available players at the time.
