Oakland Athletics SP Jesse Hahn (hand) will make his start Wednesday, April 29, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Hahn had been dealing with a blister on his hand.
Fantasy Tip: Hahn ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) has a 2.12 ERA through three starts this season but has picked up just one win. Hahn's minuscule strikeout rate is just 2.65 K/9, less than 33% of his 8.59 rate from 2014. Hahn has still been able to get by while inducing a ground ball rate of over 50%. Due to the return from injury and a risky matchup against the Angels, FantasyScore owners should look for a starting pitcher that could offer some strikeouts.

Oakland Athletics SP Jesse Hahn (blister) will have his next turn in the rotation skipped Thursday, April 23, due to blister issues.
Fantasy Tip: Obviously FantasyScore players will want to avoid Hahn ($4,400; 8.8% of cap). Jesse Sanchez will make the start in Hahnís place.

Oakland Athletics P Jesse Sanchez will make the start Thursday, April 23, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in place of SP Jesse Hahn (blister), who is dealing with blister issues.
Fantasy Tip: Sanchez is only likely to be a one-and-done option, so FantasyScore owners and those in AL-only fantasy leagues need not bother with him unless he pitches so well Thursday that he unexpectedly sticks in the rotation.

Oakland Athletics SP Jesse Hahn (hand) exited after 5 1/3 scoreless innings against the Kansas City Royals with a blister on his throwing hand Saturday, April 18.
Fantasy Tip: Hahn ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) has been throwing the ball well in his first season with the Athletics, and his ERA sits at 2.12. The blister situation needs to be monitored, but when healthy, Hahn should make a solid, cheaper pitching option at FantasyScore against most opponents.

Oakland Athletics SP Jesse Hahn ate plenty of rice and protein in the offseason in an effort to pack on some pounds for the 2015 season. He didn't run once during the offseason, either. Hahn often lost velocity in games last season with the San Diego Padres, although he finished 7-4 with a 3.07 ERA. Hahn said he gained 15 pounds in the offseason and feels much better.
Fantasy Tip: Hahn ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) is not a bad option at all as a cheap FantasyScore starter Tuesday against a Texas Rangers team that was nearly no-hit on opening night by Sonny Gray.

Oakland Athletics SP Jesse Hahn will pitch second in the rotation, announced manager Bob Melvin.
Fantasy Tip: Hahn ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) was solid in 14 appearances (12 starts) for the Padres last year. He totaled a 3.07 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 70 strikeouts in 73 1/3 innings in his rookie season. Hahn is a sleeper who should be nabbed in the late rounds of mixed league drafts.

Oakland Athletics SPs Sonny Gray and Scott Kazmir will be held out of Cactus League games for the first week. Gray made a career-high 33 starts in 2014 and tossed 219 innings, while Kazmir made 32 starts and threw 190 innings, his most since 2007. It'll also allow the A's to get better looks at SPs Jesse Hahn and Kendall Graveman, among others.
Fantasy Tip: Gray's jump in innings is definitely a concern, but not enough of one to cloud the fact that he's an up-and-coming ace that could join the elite ranks of starting pitchers in another season. Kazmir was a feel-good story with the A's last year, but his K/9 dipped to 7.8, and you have to wonder how much he has left in the tank on the wrong side of 30. However, he can still be useful in the right matchups in daily games.
