Nationals | Daniel Murphy remains sidelined Sunday

Sun, 17 Jul 2016 08:03:28 -0700

Updating a previous report, Washington Nationals 2B Daniel Murphy (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Chad Kuhl Sunday, July 17. 1B Clint Robinson will bat fifth and play first base, while INF Stephen Drew will bat seventh and play second base.

Fantasy Tip: With 1B Ryan Zimmerman (rib cage) on the disabled list, Robinson is seeing the bulk of the action at first base but he should be viewed as a low-end option in the majority of fantasy formats. Drew is 6-for-18 (.333) during the month of July and makes a productive source of cap relief in DFS.

Nationals | Clint Robinson not in Friday lineup

Fri, 15 Jul 2016 12:16:16 -0700

Washington Nationals 1B Clint Robinson is not starting Friday, July 15, against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Francisco Liriano. 2B Daniel Murphy is at first base and will hit third, and 2B Trea Turner is in the leadoff spot.

Fantasy Tip: The lefty vs. lefty matchup is the main reason why Robinson is out. Murphy has been blowing up at the plate and is a must-play in all formats. As for Turner, he is a .429 hitter but largely will see time off the bench. Assuming he hits well, Turner may be worth a low-cost flyer in DFS leagues.

Nationals | Clint Robinson to see time at first base

Fri, 08 Jul 2016 14:20:22 -0700

Washington Nationals 1B/OF Clint Robinson is likely to see the majority of starts at first base with 1B Ryan Zimmerman (rib cage) on the disabled list, according to manager Dusty Baker.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson grabs a fleeting value boost in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues, and he does boast modest pop after hitting 10 home runs in limited playing time last season. Still, keep expectations in check.

Nationals | Clint Robinson starting at first base

Fri, 08 Jul 2016 12:51:49 -0700

Washington Nationals 1B/OF Clint Robinson is starting at first base and batting sixth against New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard Friday, July 8.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson should see a fleeting run of starts at first base with Ryan Zimmerman on the disabled list with a rib cage injury. Robinson is nothing more than a low-end option in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues, though. He sits with an underwhelming .218/.280/.402 slash line for the campaign.

Nationals | Ryan Zimmerman resting

Thu, 07 Jul 2016 12:45:33 -0700

Washington Nationals 1B Ryan Zimmerman is not in the starting lineup Thursday, July 7. 1B Clint Robinson is starting at first base and is hitting sixth against New York Mets SP Bartolo Colon.

Fantasy Tip: Zimmerman is in the midst of an ugly slump that has his average down to .221 on the season with 12 homers and 38 RBI. He can't be trusted in mixed formats right now. Robinson isn't showing much better with a .214/.271/.369 line in 84 at-bats. He's nothing more than a deep sleeper flyer in DFS action.

Nationals | Two Nats take a seat

Sat, 02 Jul 2016 14:19:50 -0700

Washington Nationals 3B Anthony Rendon and 1B Ryan Zimmerman are out of the lineup Saturday, July 2. 1B Clint Robinson is hitting sixth, and 3B Stephen Drew is hitting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson and Drew have occasional power, but they're not consistent enough at the plate to make good flyers against Dan Straily today.

Nationals | Several Nats regulars resting Sunday

Sun, 26 Jun 2016 09:53:44 -0700

Washington Nationals 1B Ryan Zimmerman, C Wilson Ramos and SS Danny Espinosa are not in the starting lineup against Milwaukee Brewers SP Jimmy Nelson Sunday, June 26. 1B Clint Robinson will bat sixth and play first base, INF Stephen Drew will bat seventh and play shortstop and C Jose Lobaton will bat eighth and start behind the plate.

Fantasy Tip: Of this afternoon's three replacements in the Washington lineup, Drew is the most productive source of salary cap relief for daily fantasy contests. He is 9-for-19 with two doubles, three home runs and eight RBI during the month of June and has raised his average for the season from .173 to .254.

Nationals | Daniel Murphy, Ryan Zimmerman out

Thu, 16 Jun 2016 16:04:16 -0700

Washington Nationals 2B Daniel Murphy and 1B Ryan Zimmerman are not in the starting lineup Thursday, June 16. 2B Stephen Drew is starting at second base and is hitting seventh, while 1B Clint Robinson draws in at first base and is batting fifth against San Diego Padres SP Erik Johnson.

Fantasy Tip: Just normal days of rest for Murphy and Zimmerman. Act accordingly to bench them in seasonal and daily leagues. Robinson is hitting .222 with two home runs and 10 RBI, while Drew has a .246/.301/.554 slash line with six long balla and 13 RBI. Both flash occasional power but are nothing more than deep sleepers on the odd chance they connect tonight.

Nationals | Ryan Zimmerman sitting out

Sat, 11 Jun 2016 07:41:49 -0700

Washington Nationals 1B Ryan Zimmerman is not in the starting lineup against Philadelphia Phillies SP Aaron Nola Saturday, June 11. 1B Clint Robinson will start at first base and is batting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson has been used mostly as a pinch hitter recently and has only two hits in his last eight games. Owners in all leagues probably can avoid Robinson since there should be other options to use.

Nationals | Wilson Ramos, Clint Robinson starting

Sat, 04 Jun 2016 11:05:40 -0700

Washington Nationals C Wilson Ramos is back in the starting lineup against Cincinnati Reds SP Dan Straily Saturday, June 4, batting fifth. In addition, 1B/OF Clint Robinson will bat seventh and play first base, while INF Daniel Murphy will play second base and bat cleanup. INF Trea Turner is not in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Ramos is 8-for-16 with a double, two home runs, eight RBI and five runs scored over the past week and should be viewed as a must-start option in all fantasy formats. On the other hand, Robinson is batting just .204 in 49 at-bats this year and should be avoided.
