Nationals | Michael Taylor receives positive news

Fri, 04 Sep 2015 13:34:47 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Michael Taylor (knee) received good results after undergoing an MRI exam and believes he could play Friday, Sept. 4, according to manager Matt Williams. Taylor is not in the starting lineup, though. OF Clint Robinson is starting in place of Taylor, and Robinson is batting fifth against Atlanta Braves SP Julio Teheran Friday.

Fantasy Tip: It appears Taylor ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is set to return to the lineup Saturday, Sept. 5, but you'll want to check back for an official update before locking him into your lineups. Taylor will receive plenty of playing time down the stretch and is a fringe outfield option in deep mixed leagues.

Washington Nationals OF Clint Robinson went 2-for-4 with four RBIs against the Atlanta Braves Thursday, Sept. 3.

Fantasy Tip: The four runs batted in were a career high for Robinson ($3,600, 7.2% of cap), who is batting .308 over the past week.

Nationals | Clint Robinson starting in left field

Thu, 03 Sep 2015 13:17:40 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Clint Robinson is starting in left field and batting fifth against Atlanta Braves SP Matt Wisler Thursday, Sept. 3. OF Michael Taylor (knee) is not in the starting lineup Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Batting in the heart of the lineup, Robinson ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has some FantasyScore appeal as an upside source of cap relief Thursday. He hasn't been receiving a lot of playing time of late with just eight starts since Saturday, Aug. 1, though, so Robinson isn't without risk. Taylor ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is dealing with a sore knee and is now set to miss his second consecutive game. Taylor remains a low-end outfield option in deep mixed leagues, as the injury doesn't appear to be serious.

Nationals | Michael Taylor sidelined

Sat, 29 Aug 2015 13:50:14 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Michael Taylor (knee) is not in the starting lineup against Miami Marlins SP Tom Koehler Saturday, Aug. 29. OF Bryce Harper will start in center field, while 1B Clint Robinson will start in left field and is batting fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) could return soon, so owners should keep an eye on his situation. Robinson ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has only two hits in his last 11 games and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Nationals | Ryan Zimmerman resting

Fri, 21 Aug 2015 13:26:26 -0700

Washington Nationals 3B Ryan Zimmerman is not in the starting lineup Friday, Aug. 21. 1B Clint Robinson is starting at first base and hitting fifth against Milwaukee Brewers SP Jimmy Nelson.

Fantasy Tip: Nelson has been in a groove of late for the Brew Crew, making this a tough matchup for Robinson ($3,800, 7.6% of cap). Robinson has decent power, but he don't make excellent contact, making him a sleeper pick on FantasyScore this evening.

Nationals | Ryan Zimmerman resting Saturday

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 16:27:38 -0700

Washington Nationals 1B Ryan Zimmerman is out of the lineup again Saturday, Aug. 15, with 1B Clint Robinson hitting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is hitting .318 this month and isn't a bad flyer on FantasyScore against Jake Peavy.

Nationals | Jayson Werth not playing

Fri, 14 Aug 2015 16:14:24 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth is not in the starting lineup Friday, Aug. 14. 1B Clint Robinson is starting in left field and hitting fifth against San Francisco Giants SP Matt Cain.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has power upside but has been inconsistent at the plate in a reserve role. He's also hitting a very strong pitcher-friendly environment tonight, but is facing a pitcher that has been wildly mediocre since his return from the DL. Robinson certainly could be a nice value pick tonight.

Nationals | Bryce Harper scratched

Tue, 11 Aug 2015 16:36:40 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper was scratched from the lineup for unknown reasons Tuesday, Aug. 11. 1B Clint Robinson is starting in right field in his place.

Fantasy Tip: Against Cy Young candidate Zack Greinke and the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight, Robinson ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is an unattractive daily cog for your lineup.

Nationals | Jayson Werth has a seat

Sat, 08 Aug 2015 14:06:31 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth is out of the lineup Saturday, Aug. 8, with OF Clint Robinson hitting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has a decent matchup against Eddie Butler, but he has hit just .183 this month and .243 against righties this year. Pass on FantasyScore.

Nationals | Ryan Zimmerman taking a breather

Thu, 06 Aug 2015 11:16:09 -0700

Washington Nationals 1B Ryan Zimmerman is not in the starting lineup Thursday, Aug. 6. 1B Clint Robinson is starting at first base and hitting cleanup against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Jeremy Hellickson.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) does have some power and has hit all four of his long balls this year against right-handed pitching. Lefties have done some damage against Hellickson this year, too, with a slash line of .296/.364/.484. Hitting in the middle of the Nats order makes Robinson worth considering as a value play on FantasyScore.
