Sat, 28 Apr 2012 08:01:30 -0700 Kansas City Royals CL Jonathan Broxton is unavailable Saturday, April 28, after closing out the last two games. RPs Aaron Crow and Tim Collins are options in a save situation today.
Thu, 05 Apr 2012 16:54:48 -0700 Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost officially named RP Jonathan Broxton as the team's closer Thursday, April 5. "It's not going to be a tandem," Yost said. "Broxton is coming in if we have a save situation (Friday) in the ninth inning. If we have a save situation in the eighth inning, (Greg) Holland is coming in, and then we're going to turn it over to Broxton." However, Yost wants to refrain from using Broxton three consecutive days, so if that's the case, RP Greg Holland will receive an opportunity. RPs Aaron Crow, Tim Collins, Kelvin Herrera and Jose Mijares will be used earlier in games. RP Everett Teaford will serve as the long man out of the bullpen.
Thu, 01 Mar 2012 16:49:07 -0800 Kansas City Royals RP Tim Collins has impressed manager Ned Yost this spring with his improved command on the bump. "No doubt," Yost said. "He didn't elevate one pitch until the last pitch of the inning which he elevated on purpose to strike a hitter out. So I was very impressed by the way he threw the ball today. He commanded every pitch that he threw, had good life on his pitches and it was a very, very impressive outing for him."
Fri, 17 Feb 2012 16:25:26 -0800 Kansas City Royals RP Tim Collins will make $495,725 in 2012 as part of his one-year deal.

Wed, 13 Apr 2011 11:10:42 -0700 Updating a previous item, Kansas City Royals RP Robinson Tejeda is being demoted from the setup role because of his diminished fastball velocity, according to MLB.com's Dick Kaegel. "I'll back him off some until he gets his velocity back," manager Ned Yost said. Tejeda usually throws in the mid 90s, but his fastball was registering in the high 80s Tuesday, April 12. RPs Aaron Crow, Jeremy Jeffress, Kanekoa Texeira and Tim Collins will all be used in late-inning situations.
Thu, 31 Mar 2011 14:37:29 -0700 Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost said he won't really be imposing restrictions on his starting pitchers the first few times through the rotation, according to MLB.com's Dick Kaegel. "The first couple starts I start really paying attention at the 90-pitch mark," Yost said. "I don't push 'em to 125 the first time out. It'll be basically around the 100-pitch mark and then the third, fourth start they'll be ready to go 110, 115," Yost said. "There's no wrap on 'em. You have 'em ready to pitch 100 pitches on Opening Day and they're all there." RPs Jeremy Jeffress, Tim Collins, Aaron Crow and Nathan Adcock will not be limited out of the bullpen.
Thu, 31 Mar 2011 00:06:50 -0700 The Kansas City Royals designated C Lucas May for assignment Wednesday, March 30, and they officially added P Tim Collins to the 25-man Opening Day roster, reports Dick Kaegel, of MLB.com.
