The New York Mets have activated RP Jeurys Familia (elbow) from the 15-day disabled list. He made five rehab appearances for Class A Savannah before being activated.
Fantasy Tip: Despite being activated in time for a doubleheader against the Miami Marlins Saturday, Sept. 14, manager Terry Collins will probably avoid using Familia because he pitched for Savannah Thursday, Sept. 12, and Friday, Sept. 13. He has minimal fantasy value in all formats.

New York Mets P Jeurys Familia (elbow) will play for Single-A Brooklyn in their last two games and then move to a playoff team elsewhere in the minor league system as he rehabs from June 5 elbow surgery. The Mets are hoping to recall Familia to the majors before the end of the year.

P Jeurys Familia (elbow) is long tossing at 150 feet and should be close to throwing off a mound for the first time since having surgery on his elbow June 5.

New York Mets RP Jeurys Familia (elbow) could resume pitching before the end of the season, according to manager Terry Collins. "I heard - now this is only hearsay - that there's a possibility he may pitch again this year, that he's really made fast strides after surgery," Collins said. "I wouldn't count on it, but they did say there was a possibility. Where he's at right now, they said, he's got a chance to pitch again this year."

New York Mets Ps Jeurys Familia (biceps) and Jenrry Mejia (forearm) have both suffered setbacks in their return from injury. Familia has more issues with biceps tendonitis after making a pair of rehab outings with Single-A St. Lucie, but the team is optimistic he can get back on a mound this weekend and then move to Triple-A Las Vegas. Mejia had a flare-up of his forearm issue after making two rehab starts, and the team will keep him off the mound.
