UFL | Eric Crouch signs with Nighthawks

Free-agent QB Eric Crouch (CFL) signed with the UFL's Omaha Nighthawks Tuesday, July 12. The former Heisman Trophy winner at Nebraska is expected to compete with QBs D.J. Shockley and Jeremiah Masoli for the starting QB job. He hasn't played professional football since an appearance with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL in 2006.

UFL | Mark Herzlich drafted

Boston College LB Mark Herzlich was drafted by the Hartford Colonials of the United Football League Monday, May 2, but it is unclear if he will sign. Texas A&M QB Jerrod Johnson was selected with the first overall pick. Fresno State QB Ryan Colburn and Mississippi QB Jeremiah Masoli were also taken in the UFL draft.
