Florida Marlins SP Brad Hand will not toe the rubber for another start this year after throwing a combined 113 2/3 innings with the Marlins and Class AA. SP Alex Sanabia will take his spot in the rotation.

Florida Marlins SP Alex Sanabia might get another start before the end of the season, according to manager Jack McKeon. "Let's give him another look, let him go out on a positive note (knowing), 'My arm is OK,'" McKeon said. "Maybe he'll have a chance to pitch here next year." He is expected to see time in the Arizona Fall League, too.

Florida Marlins SP Alex Sanabia (forearm) finally made it back to the majors after a lengthy recovery from a forearm injury. He is likely to start either Sept. 14, against the Atlanta Braves, or Sept. 15, against the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Florida Marlins will promote IF/C Vinny Rottino and P Alex Sanabia from Triple-A New Orleans Tuesday, Sept. 6. The team also designated IF Alfredo Amezaga for assignment.
