Rockies | Corey Dickerson on power binge

Thu, 23 Apr 2015 16:30:36 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Corey Dickerson hit a solo home run in a win over the San Diego Padres Thursday, April 23, for his third solo shot in the last two days while he deals with plantar fasciitis. He was removed in the eighth inning on a double switch, but it was just precautionary.

Fantasy Tip: Dickerson's ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) sore foot hasn't really impacted his performance at the dish, at least not yet. You can't be too concerned if you own him, but keep an eye out. While he's hot, continue riding him at FantasyScore. However, keep in mind that he has drastic home-road splits, and hits much better at hitter-friendly Coors Field.

Rockies | Corey Dickerson back in lineup

Wed, 22 Apr 2015 14:19:21 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Corey Dickerson (foot) is back in the starting lineup against San Diego Padres SP James Shields Wednesday, April 22.

Fantasy Tip: Dickerson ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) is dealing with a bit of plantar fasciitis, which could become troublesome in the long run. Keep an eye on his status. Drew Stubbs would see a significant fantasy boost if Dickerson's foot issues persist. Now that he's back in, though, Dickerson is an attractive FantasyScore option, even against Shields. Dickerson hit .328 (113-for-345) against righties in 2014, and he hits much better in the launching pad known as Coors Field.

Rockies | Corey Dickerson scratched

Tue, 31 Mar 2015 20:15:20 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Corey Dickerson (back) was scratched just before the Cactus League spring game Tuesday, March 31, as a precaution. He has been dealing with tightness in his lower back since the weekend.

Rockies | Corey Dickerson needs some plate discipline

Thu, 26 Feb 2015 17:24:31 -0800

Colorado Rockies OF Corey Dickerson has been able to do plenty of damage to pitches outside the strike zone so far in his career, and he hit .312 with a .364 on-base percentage and a team-leading 24 home runs and 76 RBI in 131 games last year. He also had dramatic home and road splits in 2014, hitting .363 at home and just .252 on the road. Manager Walt Weiss has discussed preaching more plate discipline, but the Rockies also don't want to completely take away his aggressiveness, which has made him successful.

Fantasy Tip: Dickerson's 25-homer power is for real, especially while playing at Coors Field. That alone makes him worthy of an early-rounds pick. However, his aggressiveness could mean that you won't be able to count on a repeat of a batting average over .300, and that's particularly concerning since he doesn't steal much, either.
