Boston Red Sox OF Shane Victorino (hamstring) had more tightness in his hamstring Tuesday, May 21, and won't return until he's symptom-free. "Right now, we still think this is a short-term thing, but we've got to let this continue to subside," manager John Farrell said. It's unknown at this point if Victorino will have to land on the disabled list, and they likely won't make a decision for another few days.
Fantasy Tip: Victorino just can't seem to stay healthy after dealing with a lower back problem recently, too. Keep him on your bench until he's ready, but you'll also have to prepare for him to land on the disabled list. Have backup options at your disposal. Daniel Nava will benefit the most from increased playing time if Victorino goes on the DL.

Boston Red Sox OF Shane Victorino (back) is out of the lineup after aggravating his back injury Thursday, May 16.
Fantasy Tip: Daniel Nava and Jonny Gomes will once again gain at-bats if Victorino is out for an extended stretch. It seems more likely that Victorino could land on the disabled list this time around. Nava, who is a switch hitter, should be your first target in deep mixed leagues.

Boston Red Sox OF Shane Victorino (back) may not return to the lineup until Tuesday, April 30, but the team still isn't considering putting him on the disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: Daniel Nava remains in the lineup, but Jonny Gomes and Mike Carp may benefit the most if Victorino can't play by Tuesday and has to go on the DL. Jackie Bradley is an option to be brought back up from the minors, but after looking incredibly overmatched in his first big league stint, he probably would come off the bench.

Boston Red Sox OF Daniel Nava hit his third homer in as many games Wednesday, April 10, an opposite-field shot over the Green Monster.
Fantasy Tip: Nava has gained playing time over struggling rookie Jackie Bradley. Bradley is likely to be sent back down when David Ortiz (heels, Achilles') returns, but Nava could continue seeing valuable playing time if he continues to hit. He should be owned in all AL leagues, and he's worth considering in cavernous mixed leagues while he's hot and has PT on his side.

Boston Red Sox OF Jackie Bradley went 1-for-11 over the weekend and is just 3-for-21 on the season. He is receiving the day off Monday, April 8. OF Daniel Nava is playing left field.
Fantasy Tip: If you took the chance on Bradley, it might be wise to sit him on the bench until he shows some signs of life.

Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell said OF/1B Daniel Nava would be the primary option to play first base on days when 1B Mike Napoli is rested or used as the designated hitter. Farrell also said Nava could see plenty of time batting second in the lineup.

Boston Red Sox OFs Ryan Sweeney, Daniel Nava, Mike Carp and Jackie Bradley are basically fighting for the last two roster spots. Sweeney can opt out of his contract if he doesn't make the roster. Manager John Farrell wouldn't indicate how good of a chance Bradley has at making the team.
Fantasy Tip: Bradley should already be owned in most AL-only and keeper leagues because of his play this spring and because he's a serious opening day roster candidate. He's worth an end-game gamble in deep mixed leagues if he makes the squad.

Boston Red Sox OF Daniel Nava has a good shot to make the opening day roster, and manager John Farrell said he's a candidate to bat second against right-handed pitchers.
Fantasy Tip: Nava, who is 30 years old already, will be a part-time player but can be valuable in deep mixed leagues and AL-onlys for stretches when he's going well. He'll probably be available off the waiver wire in mixed universes.
