Texas Rangers C Robinson Chirinos (forearm) was activated from the 60-day disabled list Thursday, June 9. RP Luke Jackson was optioned to Class AAA Round Rock in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Tip: Bryan Holaday and Bobby Wilson had been serving as an effective catching tandem with Chirinos injured, so it remains to be seen how they'll progress at the position moving forward. Chirinos should at least see part-time duties, but he's nothing more than a midrange second catcher in two-catcher and AL-only leagues. He has a career .232/.301/.413 slash line with 25 home runs in five seasons.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson should be back to normal soon, but he doesn't warrant much fantasy attention when healthy.

The Texas Rangers will recall Ps Luke Jackson, Ross Ohlendorf and OF Drew Stubbs from Class AAA Round Rock Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Fantasy Tip: Stubbs is a shell of his former self, but if he is able to draw a start or two down the stretch he could be a low-end source of power in FantasyScore. The pitchers can mostly be ignored for fantasy purposes.

The Rangers already have SPs Yu Darvish, Derek Holland, Colby Lewis, Detwiler, Nick Martinez and Nick Tepesch on their roster and minor league SPs Alex Gonzalez and Luke Jackson could also compete for a job during spring training.
