The Seattle Mariners optioned SP Taijuan Walker to Triple-A Tacoma Wednesday, July 23. The team is expected to announce a corresponding move, likely a position player, before the game Thursday, July 24.
Fantasy Tip: Walker has walked 11 batters over nine innings in his last two starts. His long-term rotation spot is in jeopardy. James Paxton's (lat) return looms, and Erasmo Ramirez is pitching better.

Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker will have his next turn skipped, as the club instead will have SP Hisashi Iwakuma start Tuesday, July 29. This will keep Iwakuma and the other starters on normal four days' rest.
Fantasy Tip: Walker's rotation spot may be tenuous as James Paxton (lat) nears a return and Erasmo Ramirez continues to impress.

Seattle Mariners SP James Paxton (lat) said he felt great Wednesday, July 23, after a three-inning rehab start Tuesday, July 22, for Triple-A Tacoma. He allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits while recording a walk and four strikeouts. He expects to make his next outing Sunday, July 27, before he and the club determine the next step.
Fantasy Tip: Paxton should get a chance to rejoin the rotation when he's healthy. Taijuan Walker's performance until then may determine who sticks in the bigs.

Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Tacoma Wednesday, July 23, to start against the New York Mets.
Fantasy Tip: Add Walker for tomorrow's start, and hope he sticks in the rotation. He should be owned in all deep mixed leagues and AL-only formats.

Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker is throwing 91 to 93 mph instead of his typical 93 to 98 mph. A scout said Walker is "far from dominant. Still not in top form. His value has to have diminished some."
Fantasy Tip: This may be a case where Walker will be more valuable to MLB and fantasy baseball clubs in 2015 than in 2014 as he continues to regain optimal form following his shoulder impingement. He's losing momentum on the trade market.

Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker is being pushed back a day to start Friday, July 18, for Triple-A Tacoma. It means that he's unlikely to return to the fifth rotation spot next week.
Fantasy Tip: As has been the case all along, the Mariners aren't rushing Walker at the major league level. He will return to the majors probably shortly thereafter to rejoin the rotation. it's still a good idea to keep him stashed in deep mixed and AL-only leagues.

Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker is the leading candidate to fill the No. 5 spot in the team's second-half starting rotation, although manager Lloyd McClendon wants to see better results than he displayed while pitching for Triple-A Tacoma Saturday, July 12. Walker allowed one run on four hits and one walk but only struck out one batter and threw 83 pitches over five innings.
Wed, 09 Jul 2014 15:33:27 -0700
Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker will make two starts with Triple-A Tacoma.
Fantasy Tip: The M's optioned Walker back to the minors Wednesday in order to keep him on regular rest with the All-Star break approaching next week. Walker should be back in the big league starting rotation after his two minor league starts.
Wed, 09 Jul 2014 13:30:33 -0700
The Seattle Mariners optioned SP Taijuan Walker to Triple-A Tacoma Wednesday, July 9, and recalled RP Stephen Pryor in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Tip: This move is likely due to the All-Star break being next week. Expect Walker to be back in the starting rotation in the second half.
Mon, 30 Jun 2014 12:46:12 -0700
The Seattle Mariners officially recalled SP Taijuan Walker to start Monday, June 30.
Fantasy Tip: Walker will make the start Monday against the Houston Astros. He should at least be owned in all AL-only and deep mixed leagues, for now.
