Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker (shoulder) has been diagnosed with a right shoulder impingement and will be shut down for two weeks, according to general manager Jack Zduriencik.
Fantasy Tip: Bad news here for those stashing Walker and hoping his season debut would come soon. It'll be at least another month now and probably a month and a half until Walker has a realistic shot at entering the Mariners' rotation. In shallow standard leagues, if you don't have the room for Walker in a DL spot, you should consider cutting bait.

Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker (shoulder) was scratched from his rehab start Tuesday, April 15, due to stiffness in his throwing shoulder.
Fantasy Tip: Walker was close to possibly joining the Mariners' rotation. This setback could be significant, and it'll likely push back his timetable by at least a week. Blake Beavan is now filling out the M's rotation, and he has value in AL-only leagues, especially with Walker set back.

Seattle Mariners SPs Taijuan Walker and Blake Beavan are candidates to enter the rotation to start Tuesday, April 15, and manager Lloyd McClendon said a decision will be made in the next 24 hours.
Fantasy Tip: Walker has more upside, but the M's may want to play it cautious and let him get some more minor league starts under his belt. Walker should be owned in all leagues if he's in the starting rotation, while Beavan would be more of a short-term fix in AL leagues.

Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker (shoulder) worked five scoreless innings in his minor-league rehab outing Wednesday, April 9. He allowed three hits, one walk while striking out 10 batters in his 84-pitch outing.
Fantasy Tip: Walker looks pretty healthy, and the strikeout total was very impressive. The Mariners need a replacement for the injured James Paxton, and Walker could very well be that guy. He has big-time strikeout potential, and he is a must-have in all AL-only fantasy leagues and most mixed formats if he is available.

Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker (shoulder) will shift to Double-A Jackson to continue his minor-league rehab assignment. Walker is slotted for roughly 85 pitches Wednesday, April 9. "We want to try to keep him in warm weather as long as we can," manager Lloyd McClendon said. "This gives us an opportunity to move him to a higher level and still stay in a fairly decent climate."

Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker (shoulder) will make a rehab start with Single-A High Desert Friday, April 4.
Fantasy Tip: Walker will likely need at least a few rehab outings to build his arm strength back up before the Mariners decide if they want him in their starting rotation at the end of April. Continue stashing him in all leagues.
