Mets | Noah Syndergaard earns win

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 18:39:40 -0700

New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard (3-4) allowed one run on five hits over eight innings in a victory over the Cincinnati Reds Friday, June 26. He walked none and struck out five in the longest outing of his major league career.

Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) topped out at 99 mph on the radar gun and picked up his first victory in his last five starts. He is expected to make his next start against the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday, July 3.

Mets | Noah Syndergaard struggling

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 13:30:06 -0700

New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard is 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA through four June starts after posting a 1.82 mark over his first four outings in the majors.

Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) checks out as a high-risk, high-reward FantasyScore option against the Cincinnati Reds Friday, especially with Johnny Cueto opposing him. Seasonal owners should consider benching Syndergaard until he returns to form, too.

Mets | Noah Syndergaard has struggled recently

Thu, 25 Jun 2015 16:56:19 -0700

New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard is 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA in his last four starts. He faces the Cincinnati Reds at home Friday, June 27.

Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) is experiencing some rookie bumps of late, but he has recorded double-digit strikeouts in two of his last four starts to look on the bright side. Until he breaks out of his funk, though, you may want to consider avoiding him on FantasyScore tomorrow.

Mets | Noah Syndergaard moving to bullpen?

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 17:41:39 -0700

New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said the team has had internal discussions about moving SP Noah Syndergaard to the bullpen, although a few members of the front office are reportedly dead set against the move. He is 2-4 with a 3.76 ERA through seven starts this season.

Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) had been rumored recently to be heading to the bullpen in order to make room in the rotation for SP Steven Matz, who is 7-4 with a 2.11 ERA for Class AAA Las Vegas. The team may also be considering shifting Syndergaard to the bullpen as a way to limit the number of innings he will throw this season.

Mets | Noah Syndergaard pushed back to Monday

Fri, 12 Jun 2015 12:22:49 -0700

New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard will start against the Toronto Blue Jays Monday. June 15.

Fantasy Tip: This is a serious blow to Syndergaard's ($7,100, 14.3% of cap) upside for his next start. The Blue Jays have scored 50 more runs than any team in the league this season. Plus, Syndergaard hasn't been sharp over his last two starts, where he has allowed 11 earned runs over 10 innings with opposing hitters posting an 1.087 OPS. View him as an extremely risky option in FantasyScore contests Monday.

Mets | Noah Syndergaard on short end

Tue, 09 Jun 2015 19:31:52 -0700

New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard was outshined Tuesday, June 9, against the San Francisco Giants, as SP Chris Heston threw a no-hitter. Syndergaard allowed plenty of hits, giving up 10 for the second consecutive outing.

Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard gave up four runs over six innings in the loss. At $7,100 (or 14.2% of cap) he hasnít been doing any favors for FantasyScore players. It might be best to avoid him until he can officially get back on track.

Mets | Noah Syndergaard has shortest outing ever

Wed, 03 Jun 2015 04:38:05 -0700

New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard was tagged for seven runs and 10 hits in four innings of work Tuesday, June 2, as the Mets lost 7-2 to the San Diego Padres.

Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) may have been due for a bad outing, so chalk this one up to the odds. He still had 10 strikeouts, so leagues with strikeout points benefited from Syndergaard's start. He also became the first pitcher in franchise history and the 21st overall with 10 or more strikeouts in each of his first five outings. He's a rookie and will have some growing pains, so temper your expectations accordingly.

Mets | Noah Syndergaard has solid outing

Wed, 27 May 2015 17:10:33 -0700

New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard pitched 7 1/3 scoreless innings against the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday, May 27. He allowed six hits during the game while striking out six batters. Syndergaard also hit his first career home run during the game.

Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has pitched well in all four of his starts since being recalled from the minor leagues. Syndergaard is scheduled to face the San Diego Padres in his next start and could be a solid starting option on FantasyScore.

Mets | NY going to six-man rotation

Wed, 27 May 2015 12:15:04 -0700

The New York Mets will use a six-man pitching rotation throughout early to mid-August once SP Dillon Gee is added to the rotation. Gee will join SPs Jacob deGrom, Bartolo Colon, Matt Harvey, Noah Syndergaard and Jon Niese. The idea is to shave about 30 innings per pitcher and prevent so many arms from going over 200 innings in one season.

Fantasy Tip: This isn't a surprise. With such young arms as Gee ($3,900, 7.8% of cap), Harvey ($9,100, 18.2% of cap), deGrom ($7,500, 15.0% of cap) and Syndergaard ($6,000, 12.0% of cap), the Mets are interested in preserving the health of pitchers. No pitcher will likely get two starts in a week, which could hurt in yearly leagues, but you will still get one start a week in FantasyScore.

Mets | Six-man rotation ahead for the Mets

Fri, 22 May 2015 14:41:17 -0700

New York Mets SP Dillon Gee (groin) will return to the starting rotation and SP Noah Syndergaard is remaining in the mix, too, as the Mets will utilize a six-man rotation for the foreseeable future. "We don't really know right now how long that could go," manager Terry Collins said. "We've got a lot of managing to do of workloads. A lot of it. When you add Noah to deGrom to Harvey, there's a lot of maneuvering to be done. ... We're trying to do the best we can to keep from having to shut guys down. That's kind of where we're at right now."

Fantasy Tip: This is a huge plus for Syndergaard's ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) fantasy value, as he has a 3.18 ERA and 11 strikeouts through his first 11 1/3 innings. Switching to a six-man rotation is also a means to lessen the load on Matt Harvey ($9,100, 18.2% of cap), Jacob deGrom ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) and Snydergaard, and keep them healthy throughout the season. Gee is a spot start option in the majority of formats, including FantasyScore, but he doesn't warrant ownership outside of deep mixed and NL-only legaues.
