Dodgers | Zach Lee not in the plans

Fri, 11 Apr 2014 10:13:01 -0700

The Los Angeles Dodgers have no current plans to move SP Zach Lee onto the active roster, especially because he's not currently on the 40-man roster. The team likes Lee, but manager Don Mattingly hinted Lee could use more seasoning at Triple-A Albuquerque.

Los Angeles Dodgers RP Brandon League (lat) is hoping to get back on the mound Wednesday, Feb. 19, after reducing his throwing for a few days due to a mild lat strain. The team doesn't think the injury is anything serious, and they are just being extra cautious. League threw eight bullpen sessions before arriving to camp. Dodgers | Zach Lee ready for rotation

Tue, 28 Jan 2014 16:50:14 -0800

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Zach Lee is ready to make a run at a rotation spot this year, despite the fact that the Dodgers are expected to have a full rotation if SPs Josh Beckett (shoulder) and Chad Billingsley (elbow) return in good health. "I'm trying to win a job, striving to get here as soon as I can. If I pitch well and control what I can control, the opportunity will present itself not far down the road. There are contractual issues, but if you outperform people, there will be a spot for you," Lee said. Scouts are projecting Lee to be a middle-of-the-rotation prospect, and he's currently ranked 63rd on MLB.com's Top-100 list for prospects.

Dodgers | Other rotation options

Tue, 23 Apr 2013 15:00:10 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers P Matt Magill had his minor league outing limited to four innings Monday, April 22, so he could be a candidate to replace SP Stephen Fife in the rotation. Also, SP Zach Lee, who is 2-0 with a 1.16 ERA with Double-A Chattanooga, is a long-term possibility.

Fantasy Tip: Fife and Magill are strictly players that would be reserved to NL-only pools. Lee, on the other hand, is the team's top pitching prospect and would attract a lot of attention on the wire if he were to be called up. That probably won't happen anytime soon, but keep your eye on him.
