Parker was seeking more than $2 million to give up his football career at Clemson, where he is the starting quarterback. He will be allowed to continue playing football. The Rockies, meanwhile, saved a chunk of money and, according to a source, will be able to recoup a portion of the signing bonus if Parker gets hurt on the football field.
