White Sox | Chris Sale sets record

Fri, 02 Oct 2015 20:01:26 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale allowed one run on five hits and struck out seven in a win over the Detroit Tigers Friday, Oct. 2, surpassing the single-season franchise record for strikeouts of 269.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) capped off a strong season by setting the club record, and his strikeout potential should make him one of the first pitchers selected in drafts when the 2016 season rolls around.

White Sox | Chris Sale to make one more start

Fri, 25 Sep 2015 19:27:36 -0700

Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura said SP Chris Sale will make his final start of the season against the Kansas City Royals Thursday, Oct. 1, or against the Detroit Tigers Friday, Oct. 2, according to manager Robin Ventura.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) is only two strikeouts shy of setting the single-season franchise record. He is 0-1 with a 4.05 ERA in two starts versus the Royals this season and 1-0 with a 5.56 ERA in two outings against the Tigers. That being said, it still might be worth using him in FantasyScore because of his potential to rack up high strikeout totals.

White Sox | Chris Sale suffers loss Thursday

Thu, 24 Sep 2015 19:45:28 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale (12-11) allowed three runs on seven hits over seven innings in a loss to the New York Yankees Thursday, Sept. 24, with one walk and eight strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) fell to 0-4 in his last six starts and hasn't won since Aug. 21, in an outing against the Seattle Mariners. However, FantasyScore owners may still want to consider using him because he is second in the majors in strikeouts and is just two away from setting the franchise's single-season strikeout record. His next start will come against the Kansas City Royals Wednesday, Sept. 30.

White Sox | Chris Sale being pushed back?

Tue, 22 Sep 2015 09:08:35 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale will likely be pushed back to Thursday, Sept. 24, at the New York Yankees.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($9,300, 18.6% of cap) has been up and down in September, and the Yankees have been one of the better teams all season against left-handed starters as evidenced by the fourth-highest OPS (.759). He's yet to face the Yanks this year, but there's plenty of risk involved here for FantasyScore owners thinking of paying that high price.

White Sox | Chris Sale has rare bad outing

Sun, 13 Sep 2015 22:35:38 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale struggled Sunday, Sept. 13, in a 7-0 loss to the Minnesota Twins. Sale dropped to 1-4 with a 7.36 ERA in six starts against the Twins this year. He allowed six runs and nine hits and struck out three, raising his AL-leading total to 250.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($9,300, 18.6% of cap) is still a solid play in FantasyScore formats when he faces the other teams. You may want to look elsewhere for help, however, when Sale faces Minnesota.

White Sox | Chris Sale nearing team record

Mon, 07 Sep 2015 22:24:25 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale allowed three earned runs, seven hits and a walk with eight strikeouts over seven innings in a loss against the Cleveland Indians Monday, Sept. 7. He has 247 strikeouts, and he is closing in on a franchise record of 269 set by Ed Walsh in 1908.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($9,300, 18.6% of cap) has been a solid FantasyScore option due to his high strikeout totals this season.

White Sox | Erik Johnson starting Sunday

Thu, 03 Sep 2015 16:29:55 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Erik Johnson will start against the Kansas City Royals Sunday, Sept. 6, according to manager Robin Ventura, with SP Chris Sale being pushed back a day to start at home against the Cleveland Indians Monday, Sept. 7. Johnson went 11-8 with a 2.37 ERA with Class AAA Charlotte this year.

Fantasy Tip: This could only be a spot start for Johnson, so he's unlikely to have any kind of fantasy value in the season's final month. Using him on FantasyScore against the first-place Royals also wouldn't be recommended.

White Sox | Another 14K outing for Chris Sale

Sat, 22 Aug 2015 04:52:09 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale gave up three runs and four hits while reaching double-digit strikeouts for the 12th time in 24 starts this season, and the 30th time in his career. Sale fanned 14 hitters in an 11-4 win over the Seattle Mariners Friday, Aug. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($8,400, 16.8% of cap) has 222 strikeouts, and needless to say you should be starting him every time he pitches. He shows no signs of slowing down from the tremendous pace he is on. Sale's 12-7 record is deceptive, as the White Sox have been lackluster in hitting in the games he has lost.

White Sox | Chris Sale to face SEA Friday

Fri, 21 Aug 2015 17:58:26 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale, who will start against the Seattle Mariners Friday, Aug. 21, is 2-0 with a 1.26 ERA over his last two starts. He is coming off a performance against the Chicago Cubs where he struck out a career-high 15 batters over seven innings.

Fantasy Tip: In his career against the Mariners, Sale ($8,400, 16.8% of cap) is 3-0 with a 2.41 ERA. He should be started in FantasyScore every time he takes the mound.

White Sox | Chris Sale fans 15 in crosstown win

Sun, 16 Aug 2015 13:46:27 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale struck out 15 batters Sunday, Aug. 16, in a 3-1 win over the Chicago Cubs. It was Sale's 29th double-digit strikeout game, which is a franchise record.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) remains a must start in all FantasyScore lineups as he is easily the team's No. 1 starter. There are no real matchup issues with Sale, as he handles every lineup pretty much with ease.
