White Sox | Another 14K outing for Chris Sale

Sat, 22 Aug 2015 04:52:09 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale gave up three runs and four hits while reaching double-digit strikeouts for the 12th time in 24 starts this season, and the 30th time in his career. Sale fanned 14 hitters in an 11-4 win over the Seattle Mariners Friday, Aug. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($8,400, 16.8% of cap) has 222 strikeouts, and needless to say you should be starting him every time he pitches. He shows no signs of slowing down from the tremendous pace he is on. Sale's 12-7 record is deceptive, as the White Sox have been lackluster in hitting in the games he has lost.

Fantasy Tip: In his career against the Mariners, Sale ($8,400, 16.8% of cap) is 3-0 with a 2.41 ERA. He should be started in FantasyScore every time he takes the mound.

White Sox | Chris Sale fans 15 in crosstown win

Sun, 16 Aug 2015 13:46:27 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale struck out 15 batters Sunday, Aug. 16, in a 3-1 win over the Chicago Cubs. It was Sale's 29th double-digit strikeout game, which is a franchise record.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) remains a must start in all FantasyScore lineups as he is easily the team's No. 1 starter. There are no real matchup issues with Sale, as he handles every lineup pretty much with ease.

White Sox | Chris Sale won't be skipped

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 17:06:18 -0700

Despite his recent struggles, Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura said SP Chris Sale is fine physically and he will not have his next start skipped. "I know in the past we've done that, but that's with his velocity," Ventura said. "He'd start getting really, low 90s, almost 80s at some point, where most of his pitches were like that. That's not what it is."

Fantasy Tip: In his last two outings, Sale ($9,400, 18.8% of cap) has allowed 14 earned runs over 10 2/3 innings, giving FantasyScore owners cause for concern. He is scheduled to make his next start against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Monday, Aug. 10.

White Sox | Chris Sale gets tuned up

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 22:51:30 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale allowed seven earned runs, six hits and three walks over 5 1/3 innings in a loss against the Tampa Bay Rays Tuesday, Aug. 4.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($9,400, 18.8% of cap) has rarely struggled this season, and at least he salvaged the line with nine strikeouts. However, FantasyScore players are certainly muttering to themselves after he was rocked for seven runs.

White Sox | Chris Sale hit by liner

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 20:02:04 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale (leg) was hit by a line drive in the leg against the Boston Red Sox Thursday, July 30. He allowed seven runs on 12 hits and struck out seven over five innings in a loss, but he said being hit was not a factor in his performance.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($9,400, 18.8% of cap) wasn't having his best outing, but things really went south after he was hit by the liner. Don't read too much into his poor performance. Sale still fanned seven in five innings, and he remains of the top options at FantasyScore.

White Sox | Poor showing from Chris Sale

Sun, 19 Jul 2015 18:01:20 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale allowed four runs on a season-high 11 hits and struck out six over 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the Kansas City Royals Sunday, July 19.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($9,700, 19.4% of cap) had a rough night against one of the better offenses in the game, but his overall numbers remain excellent, and his strikeout potential makes him worth considering at FantasyScore against almost any opponent.

White Sox | Chris Sale is a strikeout machine

Wed, 15 Jul 2015 21:47:11 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale heads into the second half with an 11.84 K/9 (strikeouts to nine innings) ratio, while posting 6.83 strikeouts to walks and a 0.95 WHIP.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($9,700; or 19.4% of cap) has a steep price tag for FantasyScore purposes, but he has been worth every penny lately. He will take the ball Sunday, July 19, against Kansas City for his first start of the second half.

White Sox | Skipper prefers Chris Sale to rest

Mon, 13 Jul 2015 22:13:57 -0700

Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura said Tuesday, July 14, he would prefer SP Chris Sale not pitch in the All-Star Game Tuesday, July 14, after throwing 115 pitches against the Chicago Cubs Saturday, July 11.

Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners would also like to see Sale get a rest rather than working extra, although it is likely if he does see action it would only be an inning at the most, or in other words not terribly taxing.

White Sox | Chris Sale dazzles again

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 17:33:56 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale allowed one run on six hits and struck out 10 in a win over the Chicago Cubs Saturday, July 11.

Fantasy Tip: One start after having his streak of double-digit strike out games snapped, Sale ($9,700, 19.4% of cap) was back on track. He has a 2.72 ERA and 157 strikeouts in 119 1/3 innings this year, and he is a must-start option at FantasyScore whenever he takes the mound.
