White Sox | Chris Sale scheduled for Thursday

Mon, 25 Jul 2016 14:35:48 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale will start against the Chicago Cubs Thursday, July 28.

Fantasy Tip: Not only is Sale facing a tough opponent following a somewhat peculiar incident that resulted in a suspension, he owns a 4.87 ERA through his past 10 outings. There are some concerns, but given his track record as a fantasy ace, you will likely want to start him in all settings.

Sun, 24 Jul 2016 10:30:43 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale has been suspended five days by the organization because of his locker room incident Saturday, July 23.

Fantasy Tip: Sale likely will start for the White Sox after his suspension is over, so owners should look to see when he will pitch again. He is one of the better starting pitchers in baseball and should be used in all fantasy leagues.

White Sox | Chris Sale upset about throwbacks

Sat, 23 Jul 2016 18:07:19 -0700

Updating previous reports, Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale was scratched from his start against the Detroit Tigers Saturday, July 23, after he had a non-physical confrontation with a member of the front office regarding his displeasure with having to wear a throwback uniform for the game. The matter escalated and the club decided to send him home, with P Matt Albers receiving the spot start in his place.

Fantasy Tip: It is uncertain if Sale will face any further disciplinary action for this incident or if this will increase the likelihood of the 27-year-old southpaw being dealt to a contender. Regardless of the team he is pitching for, Sale should be viewed as a must-start option in all fantasy format every time he takes the mound.

White Sox | ChiSox interested in Nomar Mazara

Sat, 23 Jul 2016 17:52:47 -0700

The Chicago White Sox have expressed interest in Texas Rangers OF Nomar Mazara, who could be included in a potential deal involving SP Chris Sale. Chicago is reportedly hoping to land five top prospects in exchange for the 27-year-old left-hander.

Fantasy Tip: The 21-year-old Mazara is batting .281 with 11 home runs and 37 RBI through 88 games and should be viewed as a solid outfield option in all formats. Sale is worthy of consideration as a fantasy ace regardless of the team he is pitching for.

Updating earlier reports, Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale's incident wasn't with any of his teammates, but it occurred with the front office staff. A source said it began with something silly and mushroomed into a bigger argument.

Fantasy Tip: Sale could be on the move, but it's too early to speculate. Sale is an SP1 in fantasy regardless of the uniform he dons, but we'll keep you posted.

White Sox | Chris Sale sent home

Sat, 23 Jul 2016 16:03:35 -0700

Updating earlier reports, Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale was sent home Saturday, July 23, due to a "clubhouse incident" before the game that was non-physical in nature, according to general manager Rick Hahn.

Fantasy Tip: The more we hear, the more confusion ensues. What we do know is that Matt Albers and the bullpen will start tonight's game. Albers should be avoided in DFS.

White Sox | Chris Sale scratched Saturday

Sat, 23 Jul 2016 15:08:16 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale (illness) was scratched from his start Saturday, July 23, due to the flu. RP Matt Albers will make the emergency start.

Fantasy Tip: Twitter was buzzing for a bit before it was learned that it was due to an illness and not because of a trade in the works. Albers has worked an inning in each of the last two days, and he's not likely to have much in the tank. Avoid him in DFS.

Rangers | Texas pushing hard for Chris Sale

Fri, 22 Jul 2016 15:11:53 -0700

Chicago White SP Chris Sale is a serious trade target of the Texas Rangers. However, the White Sox are demanding 3B/OF Joey Gallo and/or 2B Jurickson Profar in any deal.

Fantasy Tip: Profar and Gallo are coveted assets, but Texas is also loaded with plenty of young talent. This could be a fit. The fantasy impact for Sale relocating to Texas would be negligible, but full-time at-bats for Profar and/or Gallo would be a huge fantasy boost.

White Sox | Chicago not dealing Chris Sale

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 11:00:52 -0700

The Chicago White Sox were offered a "king's ransom" for SP Chris Sale in the last 48 hours and flat out said "no," according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Sale is one of the best pitchers in all of baseball this year with his 14-3 record, 3.18 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 8.7 K/9, so it's understandable that he's untouchable. The lanky lefty has reinvented himself this year to take some off his fastball in order to be more efficient and last deeper into games. It's hurt his strikeout totals, but his fantasy owners aren't complaining.
