White Sox | Chris Sale pushed back to Monday

Fri, 03 Jul 2015 15:22:56 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale will make his next start against the Toronto Blue Jays Monday, July 6.

Fantasy Tip: This has been talked about as a means to provide Sale ($9,700, 19.4% of cap) extra rest after his heavy workload recently. He has thrown 76 innings over his past 10 starts with a 1.78 ERA and 115 strikeouts and been as good as any pitcher in baseball. Toronto will be a tough task, but it is difficult to fade Sale at FantasyScore in his current form.

White Sox | Chris Sale might be pushed back

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 14:48:36 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale might have his next start pushed back to provide extra rest due to his recent workload. SP Carlos Rodon would start against the Baltimore Orioles Sunday, July 5, in that case.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($9,700, 19.4% of cap) has thrown 76 innings over his past 10 starts with a 1.78 ERA and 115 strikeouts. He has been as good as any pitcher in baseball, so being cautious shouldn't concern fantasy owners. Check back for an official announcement on the rotation plans for Chicago.

White Sox | Chris Sale ties strikeout record

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 22:29:03 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale struck out 12 batters over eight innings in a no-decision Tuesday, June 30, against the St. Louis Cardinals. He tied a major league record by striking out 10 in at least eight consecutive starts, tying former SP Pedro Martinez.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($9.700; or 19.4% of cap) has a high price tag, but he has been a great play for FantasyScore players. Eventually his double-digit strikeouts streak will end, but ride that wave until it crashes.

White Sox | Chris Sale strikes out 10

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 19:10:21 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale (6-4) allowed six runs (five earned) on eight hits over 6 2/3 innings in a loss to the Minnesota Twins Wednesday, June 24, with one walk and 10 strikeouts. Sale recorded double-digit strikeouts for the seventh consecutive start, a feat which was last accomplished by Randy Johnson in 2001.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($9,300, 18.6% of cap) is 1-3 with a 6.46 ERA against Minnesota in four starts this season but he is 5-1 with a 1.88 ERA in 10 starts against everyone else. He is expected to make his next start against the St. Louis Cardinals Tuesday, June 30.

White Sox | Lack of run support hurting

Sun, 21 Jun 2015 15:11:15 -0700

Even with a 3-2, 11-inning win over the Texas Rangers on Sunday, June 21, the Chicago White Sox have scored three runs or less in eight straight games. It is the worst streak the team has had since 1976. Chris Sale has a 6-3 record and 2.74 ERA and SP Jeff Samardzija is 4-4 with a 4.67 mark this season.

Fantasy Tip: This is primarily why players like Sale ($9,300, 18.6% of cap) and Samardzija ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) have struggled on the mound. A lack of run support can hurt pitchers and has hurt some great starters this season. Until the White Sox can start scoring some runs, it may be worth skipping their starters.

White Sox | Chris Sale dominant again

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 20:26:21 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale struck out a season-high 14 and allowed two hits over eight scoreless inning against the Texas Rangers Friday, June 19, becoming the third pitcher to strike out at least 12 in five straight starts.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($9,300, 18.6% of cap) has also struck out at least 10 in six straight, and he is a must-start at FantasyScore while he is piling up strikeouts at an incredible rate.

White Sox | Chris Sale keeps strikeouts coming

Sun, 14 Jun 2015 13:38:36 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Chris Sale recorded 10 or more strikeouts in his fifth consecutive start Sunday, June 14.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($8,300, 16.6% of cap) has been on a roll in June, and as long as he's burning up the mound like this he needs to be in your lineup.

White Sox | Chris Sale looks to join elite company

Sat, 13 Jun 2015 21:04:08 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale will start Sunday, June 14, against the Tampa Bay Rays. He is looking to become the first pitcher since Boston Red Sox SP Pedro Martinez (2001) to strike out 12 or more batters in four consecutive starts.

Fantasy Tip: At $8,300 (or 16.6% of cap) in FantasyScore Sale is a bit on the expensive side, but the way he has been sizzling in June he is worth every penny for DFS owners.

White Sox | Chris Sale continues to whiff plenty

Mon, 08 Jun 2015 21:34:35 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale allowed an earned run, five hits and a walk over eight innings while striking out 14 batters Monday, June 8, against the Houston Astros. He is the first White Sox pitcher to strike out at least 10 batters in four straight games.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($8,300; or 16.6% of cap) continues to be a tremendous source of strikeouts and points for players in FantasyScore leagues. Keep rolling with him heading into his next scheduled start Sunday at Tampa Bay.

White Sox | Chris Sale at it again

Wed, 03 Jun 2015 21:14:33 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale struck out 13 batters Wednesday, June 3, against the Texas Rangers. He pitched seven innings, giving up three hits and two walks. Sale struck out 12 batters in his last start.

Fantasy Tip: Sale ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) is a door-breaking deal at his current FantasyScore price when he pitches like this! Consider him a must-start until we see some cooling in his play.
