Brewers | Domingo Santana scratched

Mon, 02 May 2016 16:06:27 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Domingo Santana (shoulder) was scratched from the starting lineup with right shoulder tightness Monday, May 2. OF Alex Presley is now starting in right field and is hitting in the leadoff spot.

Fantasy Tip: Get Santana out of all daily lineups as quickly as possible. The Brewers are facing soft-tossing Jered Weaver and the Angels Monday night, so Presley could be a low-end deep sleeper worth pursuing in DFS tonight. After all, Presley is 4-for-13 with a homer in limited action for the Brew Crew to start the year, and he's in a favorable lineup spot.

Brewers | Two Brewers sit Thursday

Thu, 28 Apr 2016 08:13:00 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett (oblique) and OF Domingo Santana are out of the lineup Thursday, April 28. SS Jonathan Villar is leading off, OF Alex Presley is second and 2B Yadiel Rivera hits eighth.

Fantasy Tip: None of the three are daily options at face value. Add in the fact that they're facing Jake Arrieta, the hottest pitcher in baseball for the last calendar year, and pass on those three.

Brewers | Domingo Santana sitting vs. Cubs

Wed, 27 Apr 2016 13:52:46 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Domingo Santana is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, April 27. OF Alex Presley is starting in right field and batting second against Chicago Cubs SP Jake Arrieta Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Santana hasn't exploded out of the gate, but he appears locked into the leadoff spot and has a respectable .260/.341/.425 slash line with nine runs, two home runs and nine RBI. Best of all, there is upside for more, especially in the power department. Presley cannot be started with confidence in any fantasy format because of the daunting matchup against Arrieta Wednesday.

Brewers | Three Brewers rotating in center

Thu, 21 Apr 2016 09:49:25 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis, OF Yadiel Rivera and OF Alex Presley will rotate in center field, according to manager Craig Counsell. All three hit left-handed. "There's not ideal matchup scenarios to play, but we'll just have to figure it out," Counsell said.

Fantasy Tip: None of the three moves the needle in fantasy, but it's a situation to watch if one takes over the bulk of the work.

Astros | Alex Presley in lineup Saturday

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 11:40:20 -0700

Houston Astros OF Alex Presley will play left field and bat ninth against Tampa Bay Rays SP Jake Odorizzi Saturday, July 11. OF Colby Rasmus, who played left field Friday, July 10, will move back to center field and bat cleanup Saturday.

Fantasy Tip: Presley ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is 3-for-10 since being called up and hitless in two career at-bats versus Odorizzi. Unless you're really desperate for cap relief in FantasyScore, look elsewhere for a low-end outfield option.

Astros | Jake Marisnick not starting Tuesday

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 13:13:51 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick is not starting Tuesday, July 7, against the Cleveland Indians. OF Alex Presley is in left field.

Fantasy Tip: Marisnick ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is getting a rest after two straight games he played upon return from the disabled list. He is hitting .143 against Cleveland pitching, and that doesn't help either. Presley doesn't have much fantasy value.

Astros | Alex Presley receives start

Sat, 04 Jul 2015 09:40:05 -0700

Houston Astros OF Alex Presley will start in right field against Boston Red Sox SP Clay Buchholz Saturday, July 4.

Fantasy Tip: Presley picked up two hits and one RBI in his season debut Friday, July 3, and is back in the lineup. Owners should wait a few games before considering Presley for their lineups.

Astros | Alex Presley starting in center field

Fri, 03 Jul 2015 13:06:10 -0700

Houston Astros OF Alex Presley is playing center field and batting ninth against Boston Red Sox SP Justin Masterson Friday, July 3.

Fantasy Tip: Presley hit .308 in the minors this season, and he stands to receive a few starts while George Springer (wrist) is on the disabled list. Domingo Santana ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) could see the larger chunk, though. So Presley is nothing more than a desperation add in AL-only and cavernous mixed seasonal leagues, and he is a low-end source of cap relief for FantasyScore players.

Astros | George Springer put on DL

Thu, 02 Jul 2015 10:37:21 -0700

Houston Astros OF George Springer (wrist) was placed on the disabled list with a right wrist fracture Thursday, July 2. OF Alex Presley was called up from Class AAA Fresno in a corresponding roster move.

Fantasy Tip: It's a tough blow for both the Astros and Springer's ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) fantasy owners, especially since this serious injury could cost Springer most, if not all, of the rest of the season. Hold him until we have a firm timetable on a possible return. Domingo Santana ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) is likely to have an everyday role in the outfield now, and he's an acceptable add in deep mixed and AL leagues.
