Oakland Athletics SP Drew Pomeranz struck out six batters through seven-scoreless innings to record his first win of the season over the Seattle Mariners Friday, April 10. He allowed just two hits.
Fantasy Tip: Pomeranz ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) has been brought along slowly since being selected as the fifth overall selection in the 2010 amateur draft. However, with a rotation spot secured and his 7.8 K/9 mark as a starter, there is upside in the majority of leagues. Pomeranz should be viewed as a solid arms in the back of your virtual rotation, and he makes a great daily play in favorable matchups. O.co Coliseum is a pitcher-friendly home ballpark, too.

Oakland Athletics SP Drew Pomeranz said he went back to his old mechanics from last year before tossing six scoreless innings Monday, March 30. Pomeranz had tweaked his mechanics early this spring in order to master a changeup. He is lined up to be the team's fifth starter.
Fantasy Tip: Pomeranz ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) had a solid season in 2014, going 5-4 with a 2.35 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 64 strikeouts in 69 innings. He's an under-the-radar starting option for owners in deep mixed leagues, and he should make for a nice matchup play at FantasyScore throughout the year.

Oakland Athletics P Drew Pomeranz (hip) was battling right hip tightness in his Cactus League spring outing Tuesday, March 24. He said it has happened before, but he thinks this is a one-time thing.
Fantasy Tip: Pomeranz remains in a fight for one of the two rotation jobs, but an injury at this juncture of spring training would be damaging. As it stands, if he can win a rotation job he would only be worth a look in AL-only fantasy leagues when rounding out a rotation.

Oakland Athletics SP Drew Pomeranz has 15 strikeouts through nine innings pitched this spring with a 2.00 ERA.
Fantasy Tip: Pomeranz allowed two runs or fewer in six of his eight starts last season, but he was bumped from the rotation after Oakland beefed up their rotation in the middle of the season. He returned a respectable 2.35 ERA with 64 strikeouts over 69 innings in 2014, and he is likely to land a spot in the starting rotation which has him in late-round-flier territory. The former first-round selection has plenty of upside, especially pitching in friendly home environment.

Oakland Athletics RP Eric O'Flaherty is not on the team's Wild Card roster after he wasn't available for the final series of the season against the Texas Rangers. He's coming off Tommy John surgery, and it sounds as if his arm isn't feeling great. OF Billy Burns and SP Jason Hammel are on the roster, as well as SP Drew Pomeranz. SP Jesse Chavez isn't on the one-day roster, either.

Oakland Athletics SP Jason Hammel will miss his next scheduled start, manager Bob Melvin said Tuesday, Sept. 16. Melvin also said that SP Drew Pomeranz will likely take Hammel's turn in the rotation.

When Oakland Athletics SP Drew Pomeranz returns from the disabled list, RP Jim Johnson may be traded. Johnson was nearly dealt to the Miami Marlins recently and the club has indicated it might eat most of his remaining $4.2 million salary.
