Oakland Athletics SP Drew Pomeranz will likely serve as a long reliever this season. Pomeranz says he feels much better this year thanks to finally fixing his mechanical issues. "I have a better plan with my mechanics. I feel like I know what I'm doing a lot more now. I was just searching last year to feel right. Repeating my mechanics was difficult. I was always trying to do something different to make it click," he said. Pomeranz has already thrown seven bullpens but has been delayed recently due to an infected ingrown leg hair.

The Colorado Rockies acquired SP Brett Anderson and cash considerations from the Oakland Athletics Tuesday, Dec. 10, in exchange for Ps Drew Pomeranz and Chris Jensen.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson's value has tanked the last few years because he hasn't been able to stay healthy. With that still clouding his future, the move to Coors Field should turn what little hope any of us had left for him down the drain. Pomeranz must show better control to become relevant in the majority of fantasy leagues, but the move to Oakland may put him on many a sleeper list for 2014.

The Colorado Rockies continue to talk with the Oakland Athletics about acquiring SP Brett Anderson (foot), and a deal may center around SP Drew Pomeranz. Talks have slowed because of concern about Anderson's right foot that he had surgery on this past year. The Rockies are also talking about trading for Cincinnati Reds RP Sean Marshall (shoulder) but want to make sure he's healthy, too.

The Colorado Rockies activated SPs Roy Oswalt (hamstring) and Drew Pomeranz (triceps) from the disabled list Friday, Sept. 6. Oswalt is expected to pitch Sunday, Sept. 8, but it's unsure if he'll start the game.
Fantasy Tip: Oswalt will probably be on some sort of a pitch count if he starts against the San Diego Padres this weekend, making him only a desperation addition in NL-only universes.

Fantasy Tip: McHugh is an option for NL-only leagues.
