Kansas City Chiefs DT Kyle Love, who was signed earlier this week, may be needed to play as soon as Week 12 against the San Diego Chargers with DT Mike DeVito (knee) suffering from a sprained knee. Love was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, which is why the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars cut him. He lost 20 pounds to the disease and is weighing 312 pounds currently, the lightest he's been in years. "I knew I was eating bad. I just had to cut out all the bad stuff," Love said. "A lot of people try to blow it out of proportion, that I lost all the weight because of diabetes. I lost the weight on my own, and then I got diagnosed with diabetes." Jacksonville Jaguars DL Kyle Love said he's confident his Type 2 diabetes won't be a problem or cause him to change his playing style. Type 2 diabetes is more manageable with the blood-sugar monitoring, a healthy diet and a good dose of physical activity. Love has already changed his diet, cutting out juices and desserts. He said he reported to the New England Patriots at 297 pounds, which is 18 pounds lighter than his normal playing weight. He also lost 10 pounds from working out and rest from diabetes. "People try to make it like I lost 30 pounds," he said. "I didn't lose 30 pounds. ... I feel great. There's nothing wrong with me. There's a lot of rumors going around. Like they say, you can't believe everything you hear," Love said.
