Fri, 26 Dec 2014 13:39:42 -0800
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) fully practices Friday, Dec. 26, and is probable for the team's Week 17 game.
Fantasy Tip: Ivory is not getting enough work to warrant FantasyScore consideration at this point. Look elsewhere this week.
Thu, 25 Dec 2014 14:17:16 -0800
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 25.
Fantasy Tip: Ivory hasn't topped 75 yards since Week 7, and he is rarely featured in the passing game. FantasyScore players should aim higher this week.
Sat, 29 Nov 2014 11:36:30 -0800
New York Jets RBs Chris Ivory (shoulder) and Chris Johnson (knee) are listed as probable for Week 13.
Fantasy Tip: Neither running back is worth a start this week as the Miami Dolphins have allowed just five rushing touchdowns to running backs this year.
Fri, 28 Nov 2014 13:58:29 -0800
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 28.
Fantasy Tip: Ivory shared carries in Week 12 and likely will continue to be part of a committee this week. Ivory costs $4,300 on FantasyScore, but owners may want to spend a little more money on a better option.
Thu, 27 Nov 2014 10:19:44 -0800
New York Jets OT Oday Aboushi (shoulder), LB Antwan Barnes (knee), OG Willie Colon (knee), LB David Harris (shoulder), RB Chris Ivory (shoulder), S Jaiquawn Jarrett (calf), C Nick Mangold (shoulder), RB Bilal Powell (illness), QB Michael Vick (wrist) all fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 27. Sat, 22 Nov 2014 18:17:41 -0800
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (shoulder) and Chris Johnson (knee) are both listed as probable for the team's Week 12 game Monday, Nov. 24.
Fantasy Tip: Neither Ivory ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) nor Johnson ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is a great play at FantasyScore against a solid Buffalo run defense, but if you have to play one of them, Ivory is the preferred option.
Thu, 20 Nov 2014 13:22:33 -0800
New York Jets RBs Chris Ivory (shoulder) and Chris Johnson (knee) both practiced in full for the second straight day Thursday, Nov. 20.
Fantasy Tip: The Buffalo Bills have been pretty stout against the run for much of the year, minus the last four weeks, when they've allowed four rushing TDs. Ivory ($4,300) could put up nice numbers at the end of the day, while Johnson ($3,400) is more of a risk.
Wed, 19 Nov 2014 13:16:27 -0800
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (shoulder) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 19.
Fantasy Tip: Ivory had a week to heal up during the bye, so he should be fine for Week 12 against the Buffalo Bills. This game could be played in inclement weather, giving more reason for both teams to run the ball, but the Bills have one of the better run-stopping units in the NFL. Ivory isn't the best FantasySccore investment.
Fri, 07 Nov 2014 14:56:47 -0800
New York Jets RB Chris Johnson hopes to see his role continue to increase after more than 100 combined yards in Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said the team likes to pair Johnson and RB Chris Ivory in a rotation depending on the game situations. "I think it's important for any running back to be able to get carries early and get consistent carries," Johnson said. "I don't think there's any running back out there that can get a couple carries and really be successful without being able to get in a rhythm."
Fantasy Tip: It was nice to see Johnson more involved in Week 9, but it's anyone's guess as to whether the Jets will give him an opportunity to repeat that performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The matchup is nice, making Johnson ($3,400) at least semi-intriguing at FantasyScore as a cheap flex option.
Thu, 16 Oct 2014 20:48:19 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory had 21 carries for a season-high 107 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 7 game Thursday, Oct. 16. He also added four catches for 18 yards.
Fantasy Tip: Ivory has been the team's best back all year, and he made the most of his heavy workload. If 20-plus carries become the norm for Ivory, he will warrant serious consideration at FantasyScore as a second back when the Jets have favorable matchups.
Mon, 29 Sep 2014 05:50:05 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory played 37 snaps (58% of the offense) in Week 4. RBs Chris Johnson and Bilal Powell only played on 18 and 11 snaps, respectively.
Fantasy Tip: Ivory is the clear leader right now and should be owned in all formats. Johnson could still become a factor, more so in PPR leagues, but it's tough to start him right now.
Tue, 23 Sep 2014 16:41:42 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory has forced .42 missed tackles per touch this year, while RB Chris Johnson has forced only .12 missed tackles per touch.
Fantasy Tip: Ivory had 96 total yards from scrimmage in Week 3, while Johnson struggled to find running room. The Jets have split the running duties virtually right down the middle through three games, but it looks as though Ivory, who's been more productive, might see more work moving forward. At $5,700 (11.4% of cap) at FantasyScore in Week 4 versus the Detroit Lions, Ivory appears to be a fine play.
Tue, 23 Sep 2014 13:58:26 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory may get more playing time, according to head coach Rex Ryan. Ivory and Chris Johnson both had 10 carries against the Chicago Bears in Week 3, but Ivory saw more action in the passing game.
Fantasy Tip: Ivory has impressed so far this year and was much more productive in the passing game than Johnson in Week 3, catching four passes for 52 yards. Ivory may be worth at least a flex start going forward.
Mon, 15 Sep 2014 08:47:55 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Johnson played 27 snaps in Week 2, while RB Chris Ivory played 27 and RB Bilal Powell played 17 snaps Sunday, Sept. 14.
Fantasy Tip: Ivory's play could have elevated himself in the committee. He has 23 rushes for 145 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson has 25 carries for 89 yards and no scores. Powell has just five rushing attempts. Ivory has been a cheap flex option on FantasyScore thus far, but his stock is rising for the Week 3 tilt against the Chicago Bears. Johnson is a weaker flex option at this point.
Mon, 08 Sep 2014 07:08:25 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Johnson played in 33 of the 70 offensive snaps inn Week 1. RB Chris Ivory played in 30 of the 70 offensive snaps.
Fantasy Tip: Johnson is still the RB to own as a low-end RB2 or great RB3, while Ivory has played himself into flex consideration on FantasyScore.
Mon, 08 Sep 2014 06:54:52 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory had 10 rushes for 102 yards and a touchdown in Week 1.
Fantasy Tip: Chris Johnson is still the Jets RB to own, but Ivory puts himself in flex consideration on FantasyScore for the Week 2 affair with the Packers.
Tue, 19 Aug 2014 14:01:33 -0700
New York Jets CB Dimitri Patterson (leg), C Nick Mangold and RB Chris Ivory returned to practice Tuesday, Aug. 19.
Tue, 19 Aug 2014 11:53:32 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (ribs) is expected to play in the team's preseason game Friday, Aug. 22.
Sat, 16 Aug 2014 15:34:05 -0700
New York Jets WR Eric Decker (quadriceps) and RB Chris Ivory (rib) will not play in the second preseason game Saturday, Aug. 16.
Fantasy Tip: Neither injury is considered serious. Decker is a WR3, and Ivory is an RB4 with upside in TD-only leagues.
Wed, 13 Aug 2014 12:27:23 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (ribs) was limited in practice Wednesday, Aug. 13.
Tue, 12 Aug 2014 10:19:36 -0700

Sun, 10 Aug 2014 07:09:13 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (ribs) is participating in practice Sunday, Aug. 10.
Sat, 09 Aug 2014 07:43:15 -0700
Updating a previous report, New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (ribs) is participating in a walk through Saturday, Aug. 9, but is not in pads.
Sat, 09 Aug 2014 07:20:06 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (ribs) is not participating in practice Saturday, Aug. 9.
Fantasy Tip: It is still very early in the preseason, so this is probably nothing to be concerned with at this point. Check back in the next couple days to see if Ivory gets back on the practice field.
Fri, 08 Aug 2014 09:28:51 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Johnson looked rusty in his debut with the team against the Indianapolis Colts Thursday, Aug. 7. RB Chris Ivory (rib) was injured in the game and RB Bilal Powell (hamstring) is still nursing an injury, so Johnson was the team's lone healthy back for this game. Johnson dropped a pass on a third down and lacked burst while running, rushing for just two yards and a touchdown on four carries.
Fantasy Tip: Cimini said there's no reason to be alarmed, and he's right. It's just the first preseason game. Not much was gleaned from this game with Ivory and Powell sitting out. Johnson is the most experienced of the three, and Ivory has had problems staying healthy, so CJ2K will likely be the most valuable of this three-headed monster on your draft day.
Thu, 07 Aug 2014 23:55:22 -0700
Three New York Jets players were injured in a 13-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday, Aug. 7. RB Chris Ivory (ribs) and WR David Nelson (hand) left the game, but coach Rex Ryan said afterwards both players would be fine. LB A.J. Edds (finger) broke a bone on his finger but returned to the game.
Thu, 07 Aug 2014 20:57:31 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (ribs) left the team's preseason game with a rib injury Thursday, Aug. 7, and did not return.
Fantasy Tip: If Ivory's injury ends up being significant, it could potentially boost the value of Chris Johnson or Bilal Powell. Ivory was set to be the team's goal-line back, and if he is out of the picture, Johnson or Powell would likely receive the carries around the goal line.
Thu, 07 Aug 2014 16:26:03 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory lined up with the starters in the team's first preseason series.
Fantasy Tip: Chris Johnson is still the running back to own in the Jets' backfield. Bilal Powell is unavailable so Ivory may see more work than he would in a normal regular season game. Again, it's preseason, so take these things with a grain of salt.
Wed, 06 Aug 2014 11:50:17 -0700
New York Jets RBs Chris Johnson, Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell will all receive playing time this season, and the team likely will use a running back-by-committee approach, according to head coach Rex Ryan. Ryan said there is a chance the team uses the hot hand during games.
Fantasy Tip: Committees are not great news for fantasy owners, but the team wants to use all three in their running game. Johnson probably will have the most value entering the season because of his experience. Johnson's spot in starting lineups will depend on the matchup each week. Ivory and Powell likely will be later-round options as well as handcuffs for Johnson.
Tue, 29 Jul 2014 06:45:31 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory is likely to be the team's goal line back, according to running backs coach Anthony Lynn.
Fantasy Tip: Ivory is a RB4 with enhanced value in TD-only leagues.
Fri, 25 Jul 2014 07:05:05 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) returned to practice Friday, July 25.
Fantasy Tip: Ivory figures to be in the mix with Chris Johnson, but he is relegated to RB4 status.
Thu, 24 Jul 2014 10:37:25 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) is dealing with a hamstring issue, according to head coach Rex Ryan. Ivory did not participate in team drills Thursday, July 24.
Wed, 02 Jul 2014 10:04:37 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Johnson said Tuesday, July 1, that he's confident he'll be the team's lead back this year and won't be too involved in a timeshare with RBs Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell. "Once the season starts and once we're playing and I'm doing my thing, I'm pretty sure if I'm making plays they're going to want to keep handing the ball off to me," Johnson said. "If they want me to continue making plays, I'm pretty sure I can't do that if I'm on the sideline." Johnson said he's "pretty much cleared" by Dr. James Andrews after coming off offseason knee surgery, and he said he's close to 100 percent health.
Fantasy Tip: After Johnson's disappointing 2013 season, it's hard to envision him ever returning to his glory days running the football. The Jets will surely look to keep him fresh, but there is room for improvement if he can prove he deserves lead-back touches; the Jets said they'll go with a hot hand if one stands out. For now, consider Johnson a risky RB3 with upside for a bit more.
Thu, 26 Jun 2014 05:44:11 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Johnson's touches will be limited to keep him fresh, according to Jets running backs coach Anthony Lynn. "He's got some miles on him," Lynn said. "So we're going to have to be strategic in how we use him, and when we use him, to keep him fresh so that he can be the explosive guy that I know that he can be." Johnson will be in a committee with Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell.
Fantasy Tip: That's quite a different stance than the one reported a couple weeks ago that they were going to give him the ball as much as possible. Johnson is a decent receiver and has more value in PPR leagues as a RB2. Ivory and Powell are depth fantasy backs that could figure in more in good matchups.
Wed, 18 Jun 2014 12:01:01 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (ankle) rolled his ankle and did not finish the Wednesday, June 18 practice. Head coach Rex Ryan said it's not severe but that Ivory will probably sit out of practice Thursday, June 19.
Fantasy Tip: As long as it doesn't turn out to be anything serious, Ivory should still have an important role behind Chris Johnson. There are still a couple months of watching and waiting left, but consider Ivory a flex option at this point.
Mon, 16 Jun 2014 11:38:32 -0700
If New York Jets RB Chris Johnson can prove he's still an explosive, dynamic and productive running back, he could be in line for most of the workload, according to a source. The New York Jets' distribution of backfield touches hasn't been panned out yet. Running backs coach Anthony Lynn said Johnson is "definitely going to get the ball" and has plenty left in the tank.
Fantasy Tip: Johnson has been underrated ever since he landed in New York. Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell will take away some playing time, but Johnson is the Jets running back to own this season. As long as he stays healthy, which he has his whole career, he's a safe RB3 option, with RB2 potential if he does end up as the team's main running back.
Wed, 16 Apr 2014 12:48:23 -0700
The New York Jets will use RBs Chris Johnson and Chris Ivory as a tandem this upcoming season and have them split carries. RB Bilal Powell will be the team's No. 3 running back.
Wed, 16 Apr 2014 12:29:09 -0700
The New York Jets signed RB Chris Johnson (Titans) to a two-year deal Wednesday, April 16. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Fantasy Tip: Johnson has lost a lot in recent seasons, and he's, at best, a weak RB3 for your fantasy squad. Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell will spell Johnson frequently, and Ivory figures to be the short-yardage, goal-line back. With Marty Mornhinweg as the offensive coordinator, Johnson could be used frequently out of the backfield as a pass catcher, making him more valuable in point-per-reception leagues.
Mon, 07 Apr 2014 14:42:23 -0700
The New York Jets are not concerned with free-agent RB Chris Johnson's (Titans) work ethic, and they'd be excited with a running back tandem of Johnson and RB Chris Ivory.
Sun, 29 Dec 2013 13:49:11 -0800
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (rib, hip) said he suffered a cracked rib and a hip pointer on his second-to-last carry in Week 17.
Fri, 27 Dec 2013 14:34:34 -0800
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (ankle, quadriceps) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 27, and is listed as probable for Week 17.
Fantasy Tip: Ivory should be considered a flex option for some owners this week.

Wed, 25 Dec 2013 12:15:06 -0800
New York Jets DB Ellis Lankster (jaw) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 25. DL Kenrick Ellis (back), OL Austin Howard (knee), RB Chris Ivory (quadricep, ankle), WR Jeremy Kerley (elbow), OL Nick Mangold (toe), LB Garret McIntyre (knee) and DL Muhammad Wilkerson (wrist) all did fully participated in practice.
Fri, 06 Dec 2013 14:03:58 -0800
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (ankle) practiced in full Friday, Dec. 6, and is probable for Week 14.
Thu, 05 Dec 2013 14:34:12 -0800
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (ankle) practiced in full Thursday, Dec. 5.
Fantasy Tip: Ivory's matchup against the Oakland Raiders is a nice one, but the lack of production from the Jets' offense as a whole makes him a weak play. Use Ivory mainly as a flex option in deeper leagues.
Wed, 04 Dec 2013 15:27:35 -0800
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (ankle) fully practiced Wednesday, Dec. 4.
Fri, 29 Nov 2013 13:24:48 -0800
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 29, and is probable for Week 13.
Thu, 28 Nov 2013 11:31:51 -0800

Wed, 27 Nov 2013 15:42:24 -0800
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 27.
Fantasy Tip: It's a good sign that Ivory was able to do at least something in the first day of practice. However, it might take a lot for him to be able to play against the Miami Dolphins. Plan to leave him on your bench.
