Jaguars | Limited practice for Chris Ivory

Fri, 09 Dec 2016 17:30:59 -0800

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 9, and is listed as questionable for Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory likely will share work with T.J. Yeldon if he is able to play this week, which would hurt his value. Owners on most leagues should be able to find better options to use and can avoid Ivory.

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) is questionable for Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory looks to be on the positive side of questionable, but he'll be in a timeshare with T.J. Yeldon in a tough matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Ivory is an iffy fantasy option this week.

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: T.J. Yeldon (ankle) could see the bulk of the work if he's healthy enough to go. However, he's a risky flex play against the Denver Broncos this week.

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) remains out of practice Friday, Dec. 2.

Fantasy Tip: His status against the Denver Broncos looks pretty bleak. T.J. Yeldon (ankle) could see the bulk of the work if he's healthy enough to go. However, he's not a safe flex play this week.

Thu, 01 Dec 2016 09:35:55 -0800

Fantasy Tip: Ivory probably will need to practice Friday, Dec. 2, if he wants a chance to play, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. With Ivory and T.J. Yeldon injured, Denard Robinson has a chance to have a bigger role in the offense but probably can be avoided in most leagues.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory gets into end zone

Sun, 27 Nov 2016 18:42:55 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) ran nine times for 44 yards and a touchdown in the Week 12 game against the Buffalo Bills and he added one catch for 11 yards. He left briefly due to a hamstring issue, but was able to return.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory had 10 touches to just seven for T.J. Yeldon, while Denard Robinson handled the ball 13 times. A three-headed rushing attack going forward would not help fantasy owners, although Ivory still might have the best outlook of the trio.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory leaves game

Sun, 27 Nov 2016 11:14:12 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury in Week 12 and is listed as questionable to return.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation to see if Ivory will have a chance to return to the game or if he will be sidelined. T.J. Yeldon probably would see most of the snaps if Ivory misses an extended period of time and could be a flex option in some leagues.

Sun, 20 Nov 2016 17:50:00 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory rushed 17 times for a game-high 39 yards in the Week 11 game against the Detroit Lions. Ivory added six receptions for a game-high 75 yards on six targets.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory has hit the century mark in total yards from scrimmage twice in the past three games. He is a decent flex fantasy option heading into Week 12 against the Buffalo Bills in leagues of 12 or more teams.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory struggles in Week 10

Sun, 13 Nov 2016 15:22:56 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory ran nine times for 31 yards and caught two passes for 10 yards in a Week 10 loss to the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: The Jags trailed for most of the game and didn't commit to running the ball. Ivory is a sketchy fantasy play any week for a number of reasons, and a Week 11 meeting with Detroit makes him a fringe flex start.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory to be the lead back?

Fri, 11 Nov 2016 19:30:42 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory is expected to be the primary back on first and second down going forward with RB T.J. Yeldon spelling him and serving as the third-down back.

Fantasy Tip: If someone cut Ivory loose in your league, add him immediately. He is a flex candidate in Week 10 against Houston, and the arrow is pointing up on Ivory's fantasy value.

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 14:47:44 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory rushed for 107 yards on 18 carries against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory had a big role in the running game this week and made the most of the opportunity. It is not known if he will have a similar role moving forward but should at least more carries than he has received in previous weeks. He has a chance to be at least a flex option for owners.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory leads team in rushing in win

Sun, 23 Oct 2016 20:27:57 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory rushed five times for a team-high 48 yards in the Week 7 game against the Oakland Raiders, helped mostly by a 42-yard scamper. He also had two receptions for three yards on four targets.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory is more of a short-yardage guy, but he has been able to carry the load in the past. If T.J. Yeldon remains stuck in neutral, Ivory might see more touches in the future. For now, treat Ivory as a RB3 in most standard fantasy leagues.

Sun, 16 Oct 2016 14:44:10 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory rushed for 32 yards and one touchdown on 11 carries against the Chicago Bears in Week 6.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory led the team in rush attempts in Week 6 but averaged only 2.9 yards per carry. He will continue to share work with T.J Yeldon and should only be a flex option in deeper leagues at this point.

Thu, 29 Sep 2016 11:51:07 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (ankle, knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory appears to be on track to play in Week 4 and should receive a decent amount of carries during the game. He rushed for only 14 yards on 12 carries in Week 3 and may not be the best option for fantasy owners.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory limited in practice

Wed, 28 Sep 2016 13:05:18 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (ankle, knee) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Fantasy Tip: After missing the first two games of the season with an illness, Ivory sprained his ankle and knee last week in his Jaguars debut. He rushed for just 14 yards on 12 attempts in Week 3, and if healthy, Ivory projects to continue splitting work fairly evenly with T.J. Yeldon going forward. However, if Ivory finds his groove, he could grab a larger share of the workload given Yeldon has averaged just 2.47 yards per rushing attempt through the first three weeks of the season.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory banged up in Week 3

Tue, 27 Sep 2016 22:10:54 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (knee, ankle) suffered a sprained knee and ankle during the team's Week 3 game against the Baltimore Ravens. He played through the injuries, however, and was able to finish the game.

Fantasy Tip: It has been a rough start for Ivory, who was hospitalized prior to Week 1, missed Week 2 and returned last Sunday to post just 14 yards on 12 carries while sustaining multiple injuries. The silver lining is he logged twice as many carries as T.J. Yeldon. Still, Ivory will remain a risky play until he shows he's back to his old form.

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 09:45:07 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (illness) is officially active for the team's Week 3 game.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory out for Week 2

Fri, 16 Sep 2016 08:23:36 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (illness) has been ruled out for Week 2 with an undisclosed illness.

Fantasy Tip: T.J. Yeldon has a good matchup against the San Diego Chargers. He rushed 21 times for just 39 yards and a score against the Green Bay Packers last week. He's a decent RB2 in fantasy this week.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory says he's 'ready to go'

Thu, 15 Sep 2016 15:26:06 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (illness) said he's "ready to go" and there are "no more issues." He didn't want to go into details about what caused him so much pain that he needed to be taken to the hospital the morning of Sunday, September 11, but he was excited to be back and "just ready to get back going."

Fantasy Tip: Tip: Details are still vague about why Ivory even went to the hospital in the first place, but based on how he's feeling at the moment, it looks like he's ready to put all of this in the rearview mirror. Ivory probably won't play this week, but certainly has the potential to be a serviceable flex option again in the near future. In the meantime, T.J. Yeldon looks like a solid RB2.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory not ruled out yet

Thu, 15 Sep 2016 11:22:15 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (illness) has not been ruled out for Week 2 at this point, but head coach Gus Bradley said it would be challenging for Ivory to play in the game.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory likely will sit out next week and try to play in Week 3 or Week 4. T.J. Yeldon will be the starting running back for the Jaguars and should be a No. 2 running back or flex option for owners.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory sitting out

Thu, 15 Sep 2016 09:10:44 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (illness) is not participating in practice Thursday, Sept. 15.

Fantasy Tip: It appears Ivory will miss at least one more week, so owners will need to keep an eye on the situation. T.J. Yeldon should see most of the playing time at running back again in Week 2 and should be considered a fine No. 2 running back in fantasy leagues.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory absent from practice

Wed, 14 Sep 2016 11:00:56 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (illness) did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory was just released from the hospital Tuesday, Sept. 13, so it isn't surprising he was absent from practice Wednesday. There is currently no timeline for his return, so continue to view T.J. Yeldon with elevated fantasy value heading into the Week 2 matchup against the San Diego Chargers Sunday, Sept. 18. Yeldon is in RB2 consideration after the Chargers allowed 33 points and 413 yards in Week 1.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory out of hospital

Tue, 13 Sep 2016 13:00:10 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (illness) was released from the hospital Tuesday, Sept. 13, and is doing well. There is no timetable for his return yet.

Fantasy Tip: It seems unlikely at this point that Ivory would jump right back into a major role in Jacksonville's backfield. T.J. Yeldon is still the better play. He's a decent RB2 option if Ivory is out or limited after the San Diego Chargers surrendered 200 total yards and a touchdown to Spencer Ware last week.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory still undergoing tests

Tue, 13 Sep 2016 10:58:21 -0700

Updating a previous story, Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (illness) is still undergoing tests but is hopeful of being discharged from the hospital in the day or two, according to USA Today's Tom Pelissero.

Fantasy Tip: The fact Ivory is hopeful of being discharged in the next day or two is a good sign, but no one can really be for sure until an official diagnosis has been made. Pelissero called Ivory's Week 2 status for the Jaguars' game versus the San Diego Chargers "up in the air", but owners shouldn't expect him to play. Even if he does somehow suit up, he'd be looking a slight cameo at most, while T.J. Yeldon carries most of the load in a plus-matchup.

Jaguars | No change in Chris Ivory's status

Tue, 13 Sep 2016 10:03:13 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (illness) remains hospitalized with a "general medical issue", according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fantasy Tip: His status remains unchanged from Monday's update. As one might expect with a diagnosis yet to be made, his Week 2 availability against the San Diego Chargers is in serious doubt. Schefter also mentioned the Jaguars hope to know more within the next 48 hours, so perhaps this story is close to reaching a resolution.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory remains hospitalized

Mon, 12 Sep 2016 10:30:43 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (calf, illness) remains in the hospital and is undergoing tests to discover the source of the pain that led to his admission Saturday, Sept. 10.

Fantasy Tip: At this point, fans and owners should care less about availability against the San Diego Chargers next week and can only hope this isn't a more serious issue that threatens his overall well-being. As far as the Jaguars are concerned, they should anticipate another committee backfield attack of T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson in the very likely event Ivory is forced to sit out Week 2.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory sent to hospital

Sun, 11 Sep 2016 09:50:16 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (calf, undisclosed) was admitted to the hospital Saturday, Sept. 10, because of an issue unrelated to his calf, according to a source. He will be evaluated later this week, which will determine whether he will be able to play in Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation over the next week to see if Ivory will miss more time because of his undisclosed injury. T.J. Yeldon will receive most of the work while Ivory is sidelined and will be a decent starting option in fantasy leagues.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory out Sunday

Sun, 11 Sep 2016 08:26:41 -0700

Contrary to a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (ankle) has been declared inactive for Week 1's game against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: Remove Ivory from all fantasy lineups immediately. RB T.J. Yeldon will receive the starting nod against Green Bay and makes a viable flex option in all formats. RB Denard Robinson could also see a few carries but should not be viewed as a great fantasy option.

Jaguars | T.J. Yeldon could start Sunday

Sun, 11 Sep 2016 07:30:47 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon could start Week 1's game against the Green Bay Packers Sunday, Sept. 11. RB Chris Ivory (ankle) is expected to play but is likely to receive fewer snaps than normal, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Both players are worthy of consideration as flex options in all fantasy formats this week, although Yeldon appears to be the safer choice since it is unknown how many snaps Ivory will play.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory questionable

Fri, 09 Sep 2016 08:46:52 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (calf) is listed as questionable for Week 1, but he's expected to play in Week 1. He participated in the walkthrough Friday, Sept. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory looks to be on the plus side of questionable, and the matchup is solid against the Green Bay Packers. He'll likely share the load with T.J. Yeldon, and both are flex options in fantasy.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory limited again

Thu, 08 Sep 2016 13:54:57 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (calf) was limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory's status will need to be monitored heading into Sunday's slate of games. Even if he's healthy and plays he'll split playing time with T.J. Yeldon. Don't view Ivory as more than a flex start this week.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory limited Wednesday

Wed, 07 Sep 2016 13:49:01 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (calf) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to monitor the situation to see if Ivory is in danger of missing Week 1. He is expected to receive most of the carries in the running game this season and will be a fine No. 2 running back or flex option in leagues if he is active.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory, T.J. Yeldon are co-starters

Mon, 08 Aug 2016 14:06:38 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RBs Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon are listed as co-starters on the Jaguars' first depth chart.

Fantasy Tip: The acquisition of Ivory really crowded the Jacksonville backfield this offseason. Ivory has the experience, but Yeldon is no pushover and is coming off a decent rookie campaign. For now, they're both in RB3 territory, but if push comes to shove then Ivory is a slightly better option.

Jaguars | A timeshare in the Jacksonville backfield?

Sun, 17 Jul 2016 05:35:22 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RBs Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon could have close to an even split of playing time, in the opinion of The Florida Times-Union's Ryan O'Halloran.

Fantasy Tip: What's most important is where and when the playing time come, and Ivory is likely to see more work close to the goal line, whereas Yeldon could be utilized more in passing situations. Depending on your fantasy format, their respected values alter slightly. View both as viable No. 3 backs for your virtual squad. In the event of an injury to either, the other's stock would skyrocket, though, so don't shy away in the middle rounds of drafts.

Fri, 17 Jun 2016 18:33:31 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon's improvement in pass protection was praised by offensive coordinator Greg Olson, and beat writer Ryan O'Halloran believes Yeldon is being slotted for the third-down back role while RB Chris Ivory will handle more of the carries on early downs.

Fantasy Tip: Yeldon is younger and has more upside, especially in PPR formats, but both he and Ivory are in RB3 range heading into 2016.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory back at practice

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 13:09:50 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (undisclosed) participated in practice Tuesday, June 7.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory appears to be fine and should share work with T.J. Yeldon at running back in 2016. He likely will receive more carries as part of the committee and is coming off a solid 2015 season. Ivory should be a fine No. 2 or No. 3 running back for fantasy owners.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory not at workout

Mon, 06 Jun 2016 11:10:06 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (undisclosed) was not present for organized team activities Monday, June 6.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory should be on the field for the mandatory minicamp and is expected to share work with T.J. Yeldon in 2016. The team is expected to have a better offense this season, which will help his fantasy value. Owners in most leagues should consider Ivory as a No. 2 or No. 3 running back.

Thu, 02 Jun 2016 10:30:45 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (personal) participated in organized team activities Thursday, June 2, after he missed workouts Tuesday, May 31, because of a personal issue.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory probably will share work with T.J. Yeldon in 2016 but may receive a majority of the carries. He should be considered a No. 2 or No. 3 running back in most leagues and should be a starting option most weeks. The Jaguars are expected to have an improved offense this upcoming season, which will help Ivory's fantasy value.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory successful on first down

Sun, 22 May 2016 21:01:34 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory's 736 yards gained on first-down carries last year were the third most in the NFL, and beat writer Ryan O'Halloran believes Ivory will handle more carries on first and second down than RB T.J. Yeldon, and Yeldon will serve as the primary third-down back.

Fantasy Tip: It remains to be seen how the carries will be distributed, but Ivory and Yeldon are going to curb the fantasy upside of each other. Yeldon has more upside, especially in PPR formats, but Ivory should still be a potential RB3.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory could start

Fri, 01 Apr 2016 20:05:14 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory and RB T.J. Yeldon will be in a competition to see who opens the 2016 season as the starter, according to head coach Gus Bradley.

Fantasy Tip: Regardless of who is officially listed as the starter, both backs should see their share of touches. Yeldon has more upside and could sneak into RB2 territory, and Ivory should make a serviceable RB3.
